“Perfect location and hotel staff friendly and helpful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

We stayed five nights in this lovely hotel. The perfect location for sightseeing and a wonderful view from the rooftop terrace restaurant. All staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was to our liking. The hotel had arranged pick up at airport, wonderful as arrived in the evening and always difficult to know best way to transfer to the hotel. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we would stay here again should we come back to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Superior room, had a wonderful view over the Marmara Sea.

This hotel was selected as part of our tour package. The location is perfect ..... within easy walking distance to everything you want. When we first arrived, we were a bit unimpressed, but slowly the hotel won us over. Our 'first' room was on the fourth floor, just under the roof top terrace. Needless to say, it was a bit noisy. Although the hotel was completely renovated just four years ago, they neglected to upgrade the soundproofing. The rooms in this boutique hotel are small, but spotlessly clean with good quality touches (terry robes and slippers, good shower, comfortable bed). What won us over was when we asked if we could change to a room just a bit bigger no questions were asked and we were moved to a two-room suite! The suite was wonderful! Thank you Byzantium!

Room Tip: I suggest requesting a room NOT on the fourth floor. It can be very noisy, especially on the weeken...

The Byzantium Hotel is situated in a vibrant and colourful street in the heart of the historic Sultanahmet district of this marvellous city - within easy walking distance of most of the important sites and close to very good public transport should you wish to go further afield. We were there for a fortnight. The hotel is fitted-out in quite a luxurious style and is extremely clean. There is a spa and fitness centre which we did not visit. We had an executive suite which consisted of a lovely large room with a kitchenette annexe and bathroom. One window looked-out over the Marmaris Sea and the other over the beautiful Blue Mosque. There was a small balcony on which we could read and enjoy the scenery. Breakfast was of a very high standard - hot and cold buffet with variations every day. There is a roof-top restaurant with a great view and reasonable prices. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful - in particular, Esra Yasar (Guest Relations) who was happy to assist us organising trips and checking-in. To sum up, we have nothing but praise for this hotel which contributed greatly to the enjoyment of our holiday.

We stayed for a week in March 2014. Stayed in a deluxe room, partly sea view. The room was a bit small but comfortable, the shower room even smaller (no tub). Hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good. Tried the roof top restaurant for a meal the quality of food was good.

The rooms were kept clean. The sea view was overlooking various other roof tops.

The Hotel is 5 mins walk to Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Haga Sophia and the Topkapi Palace, 10 mins to the tram. Walking distance to the Grand Bazar and the Chemburlain Turkish bath. Saves a lot of travelling time. Take the stored value tram ticket. The hotel is on a street full of nice restaurants thus very convenient. The quite location is an added advantage.

Pricing varies, due to some reason one of the nights was Euro 800, thank god we took an alternative date. Not a place worth paying anything above Euro 250/night.

For transfer to and from the airport best to arrange from the airport, half the price.

I do recommned this hotel because it is conveniently located, friendly people and clean.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new wing.

Great location, very helpful and polite staff - also at the terrace restaurant with a fabulous view of the Bosphorus and the Asian side of Istanbul! Very clean and nice everywhere. The room was a bit small, but okay. The bathroom was extremely small - when you opened the door it crashed into the toilet! Our room (301) had a double window with view of the busy restaurant street and partially the Blue Mosque. But the windows were soundproof so we were not bothered by the noise from outside. The air condition was not working very well, so fortunately it was not too hot outside - still we woke a couple of times from the heat.

(No points for the breakfast though. Almost nothing left when we arrived for the last half hour, but not really much on the plates to get excited about anyway.

The Byzantium Hotel is ideally located in Sultanahmet. All the major sites are within walking distance. The hotel is extremely clean and the Staff is very helpful and polite. A special word for Esra, the guest relations manager ...she is always enthusiatic and helpful , gave us some good sightseeing tips. The restaraunt and front desk were always smiling and courteous.
The rooms and bathrooms though slightly on the smaller side are well equipped. The terrace restaurant has amazing views and excellent food.
I only wish the family room did not have a sofa-bed which is very uncomfortable.
Overall a very nice stay at Byzantium. Please do stay there if you want to enjoy all the sights both in the day and night.

Room Tip: Family Room has only one bathroom plus a queen bed and sofa bed ...not comfortable if you are a fami...

Hotel Byzantium is located in a terrific part of Istanbul, the sultanahmet area, allowing guests to see many famous sites within walking distance. turkish memorabilia stores (rugs, pottery, jewelry) and local feeling restaurants abound right around the corner.

The same staff was friendly and accommodating. we enjoyed talking with Deniss Nur she helped us o lot.our reservation was economic double room there were our many luggage the room was small, my husband talked to receiption. but they did not care.they said us 'your reservation is economic double room.hotel is full .that boy was very careless.after talked reservation manager Denis immediately she was change big room include fruit basket (she is savy lady.)but wifi dissapointed:(

Breakfast was so so.low quality cheese, jam.there was the same foods in different decorated and exaggerated spices.

Excellent dinner with a stunning views overlooking the sea of marmara, blue M and apalace. evening cocktails on the roof terrace were a delight.

ı enjoyed stay this hotel and service. and especially I want to thanks to DENIS
