Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights recently with my mum and auntie. From the minute we stepped inside, we were greeted very warmly and offered complimentary tea. Hospitality cannot be faulted! One of the best hotels we've stayed in. Well equipped and very clean rooms. A big thank you to the receptionist Halil, who helped us out everyday! Our stay in Istanbul was superb.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floor. Easier access to the restaurant and will have the best views of Sult...

We booked via British Airways as me and my partner both work for airline industry. We arrived to a very warm welcome and a lovely glass of cold apple juice. We were promptly shown to our room which had a small balcony overlooking the Aya Sofya the first imperial mosque of Istanbul. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to all the sights that are worth visiting in Istanbul. Due to my blood pressure our air conditioning system was not cool enough for me as it was working fine but was waiting for the holiday period after Ramadan to end to be upgraded. However as experienced travellers what we experienced from the staff Halil, Ilhan and Gokhan was exceptional in ever way. Their customer service and care for their customers including ourselves was overwhelming. They are kind and considerate and go completely out of their way to ensure your stay is first class. Halil should get a wage rise his service was outstanding. We travel far and wide all around the world and the service and care we received at the Adamar Hotel was at the very top of any list. Not to mention the rooftop restaurant that had views to die for. The breakfast that was served was full of delights and had a fantastic choice. We cannot rate this hotel high enough as it was an all rounder but if we visit Istanbul ever again we will be returning to the Adamar for the main reason being once again Halil Ilhan and Gokhan with their friendly caring understanding welcoming service. I wish we lived closer to them as I personally would have loved to have had them over to Scotland for a Visit so if you are reading this Halil and ever wish to visit a cold country please come find us. Fariba and Derrick

Room Tip: all the rooms are clean and comfortable and decorated in a quaint turkish way

Awesome location, right on the doorstep of every major tourist attraction in Istanbul. Attentive and helpful staff. Basic rooms but more than made up for the location. Most places are only 5-10 minutes away and so this is a great place to stay for those with kids.

We stayed at the Adamar hotel one night at the end of a cruise. It is a nice little hotel. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. However, I was a little disappointed after reading all the great reviews.

Advantages:

Reasonably priced.
Easy walk to the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar. The Cistern was literally on the same street.
The roof top was beautiful. We had a drink in the afternoon and the view was fantastic.
The elevator was modern and glass enclosed. European elevators tend to be claustrophobic. I usually avoid them. Even though this one was small, it was fast and the glass made it more open.
The man at the front desk was very helpful. He handled everything quickly and efficiently. We needed a ride to the airport and he took care of that very well. I thought the price of the transportation was fair. I wish I had arranged transport from the cruise port to the hotel. The taxi we used was shady.
Breakfast was good. You could have a cooked to order entrée such as an omelet, but there was still a large buffet. It almost had too many selections.
A couple in our group had a great view from their room on the fifth floor.

Disadvantages:

We ate at the roof top restaurant. The view was great. The food was just OK.
The hotel was a little worn around the edges. I thought the pictures on TripAdvisor looked much nicer than the hotel actually was.
The neighborhood was good and I felt safe, but some of the buildings were run down. Some appeared to be empty.
The view from the back of our room was of a courtyard that was very messy and run down.

I had a good stay at this hotel, but I am not sure I would be comfortable staying a week.

Me and my friend decide to do a reunion across the globe in Turkey and take vacation together, we stayed at Adamar Hotel from 2014/06/21-28th. I was the one in charge of accommodation. after careful web research, I booked this hotel out of its good location, exotic room decoration and fairly decent reviews, but still, part of me carried some worries as it's not big named chain hotels like what I accustomed. However, from the minute I made international phone calls requesting additional services, I knew I made good choice. The staffs were just so friendly, helpful and very efficient. Once we arrived, except for the room is relative smaller than expectation, we enjoyed every mins of our staying. From breakfast on the roof with fresh food, thoughtful services and incredible view; whenever there was a question or trouble with schedule and flight, we knew we could always get suggestion and helps down at lobby or from a phone call away 24-7. Location wise, it's walking distance to most of attraction in this side of the town but about 2-3 blocks away from the main street so at night is quieter with less crowds hanging around. Unlike some business oriented places, staffs at Adamar Hotel provide travel info but didn't try to push selling which made us feel very comfortable throughout the staying and feel safe as if the hotel became our second home-base for all of our adventures in this exotic city. Strongly recommended especially if its your first visit to Istanbul :)

Room Tip: we stayed on 3rd floor in front of the elevator, find our room quite alright except for its a bit sm...

If you are going to stay in this prime touristy area, then this hotel is a good choice. It's very central location is actually on a less frenetic corner of 2 streets with a nice local cafe opposite for a quick 'cay'. The tram station is a few minutes walk down the hill (use the trams - they work, are cheap and have AC!) and all the main sites are equally close. The staff are accessible and helpful with excellent english and always cheerful. The rooftop view is the star - and you can have a 5* experience for an evening drink without the palava and price of the big-hitter hotels. Breakfast at the top is a lovely start to the day - not particularly for the food but the view. The rooms are good although I found the decor wacky but who cares as there is so much to do in this city that we were barely in the rooms.

We stayed at the Adamar from 4-8 August and had a wonderful time. Like many we felt that booking a hotel in Istanbul could be a bit of lottery, there are just so many to choose from ! Having looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor we settled on the Adamar. What a fantastic choice ! The hotel is small and intimate, with staff that could not do more to help. From the always visible cleaning staff (reassuring !) to the morning breakfast crew they were all so helpful. The rooms are not massive, but clean, functional with all the facilities we needed. To top all of this there is the Panorama Restaurant on the roof giving possibly the best view in Instanbul. The food is wonderful, if not cheap and it makes for a wonderful place to drink and relax on an evening. We would most certainly return to this hotel. The only slight negative was for us the beds were a little to firm, but this is very subjective.
