“Four Seasons “Travel Style Choices””
Reviewed 24 May 2009

We spent several nights at the Four Seasons Sultanahmet, but Bosporus is an Apple and Orange comparison.

A much larger overall facility directly ON the Bosporus. City–centered, versus Sultanahmet’s more, Old Town and more subdued feeling. The hotel has a more “urban” attitude than Sultanahmet, but that IS NOT a bad thing … just a preference choice.

Bosporus has its various bars, restaurants, and specialty shops, which are perfect in balance and choice. Just sitting outside, having a drink and watching the ships, boats, and other watercraft go by has its own beauty and peace!

Service and staff are what you would expect here. Extremely attentive and aware of your presence. The room was spacious (no suite here and certainly would have appreciated a “Bosporus View”), but everything was comfortable and perfectly prepared. We did have an “early” morning flight out and so greatly appreciated the timely, well prepared, and EARLY room service with mandatory coffee!!!

You are in a somewhat awkward location with not much to walk to, but you do have easy access to the various sights and locations as long as traffic conditions allow … not too much of a problem for us.

It is totally different from the other Four Seasons property… Completely depends on you travel style … but we completely enjoyed the stay!

What can I say about this hotel. It is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The location is amazing, service and accommodation first class and the attention to detail is superb.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Istanbul.

My Husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. despite the fact that it was only a wee after the hotel opened (late June 2008), everything was fantastic. Beautiful setting right on the Bosphorus and while it is a little bit out of town, it's a short taxi or boat ride to the main attractions of Istanbul. The spa is gorgeous, gym well equipped, and the food was top notch. Also, as another reviewer noted, the pool side service was wonderful. I don't think you can go wrong with a four seasons and certainly not this one!

What a gorgeous hotel: truly every corner is perfect, pristine and lovely. First rate service, gorgeous spa, truly magnificent. The very meaning of 5 star. Try to get a room in the main palace section rather than the new wings. Good location, walk to other hotels, hip neighborhood, the ferry to Asia - not the best location to see the typical sights (i.e. Hagia Sofia, etc. - stay in the other Four Seasons Istanbul for that) but a relaxing reprieve from the touristy center of Istanbul. Suggest staying a few nights on the Bospherous, a few nights at the other Four Seasons in the city. The hotel will set up a boat tour of the Bospherous complete with mezze and wine - pricy but worth it. My only qualm is that in its utter perfection, it's a little "cold" - not reflective of the country itself. But I'm not complaining. Go to Les Ottomans, another hotel a few blocks down, for cocktails - tons of fun, crazy decor. The pool looked amazing and I'm sure the summer scene is tons of fun, though we were there during the fall and it was chilly and overcast.

Well, this is a Four Seasons, so what would you expect. But this is truely a beautiful hotel. The location in terms of views is amazing, but you will need to travel to go the key sites of Istanbul - but a water taxi service makes that quite fun. Everything really is impressive here, I really couldnt fault it - other than - the weather which was horrible (but what do you expect for early March) and that I was on business. If I could afford it I would return when the sun is out and stay for some time. Lastly the spa has to be one of the best in the world and would predict it make conde nast's list of the best in the world.

I've spent several days in this hotel. It is a very nice hotel, between Besiktas and Ortakoy. The staff takes good care of you from the moment you enter the lobby. They are very friendly and ready to help any moment you might need it.

The rooms are clean, the staff comes two or three times per day in the room for services, late at night you can find wehather forecast for the next day, the slippers are arranged for the nap time.

The breakfast is ok, could definitely be better in terms of diversity. If not included in the room price, the breakfast is 55 TLY per person (about 22 EUR).

Internet is accesible with charge, 22 EUR/day.

OPutsiode you can find a big pool with thermal water, they have nice spa, hamam and massage services, altgoug it is very expensive (about 100 EUR for one hour in hamam).

Outside the hotel there are no near facilities, taxi would be the most convenient way to travel around. For example, a taxi fare from hotel to Sultanahmet was around 20 TLY (10 EUR). Definitely, this price depends on traffic level...

With its Spa the Four Seasons Istanbul at the Bosphorus is set to be a world class Spa Hotel. The Staff were outstanding. Location stunning with a quick hop by boat to the old town. Real charm yet all mod cons available. A Spa to rival its sister hotel the Four Seasons in Sharm El Sheikh. Worth checking out of season rates. If the sun shines take to the Bosphorus and head up towards the Black Sea. Byzantium, Constantinople, Istanbul - a stunning history unfolds before your eyes.
