“Wonderful hotel in Istanbul!!”
Reviewed 9 September 2011

This hotel is absolutely delightful. We stayed there for two nights. The suite was beautiful and the front desk staff are very helpful. We easily navigated the city with their directions. There are many restuarants in the neighborhood nearby and it is very nice to be away from the crowded tourist area in the evening. I would highly recommend staying at the Witt!!

Room Tip: Our room was on the 5th floor and had a great view of the city.

We had a fantastic experience and stay at the Witt Istanbul Suites. It was very clean and nicely decorated with Autobahn design furniture. All staff members were friendly and service minded, especially Onur, who I guess is native American due to his excellent English/language skills and understanding of excellent service.

We had a lovely room (no. 62) on the top floor with a big terrace - with great views over the Bosporus and the historical peninsula. Breakfast was served in our room at no extra charge, which was highly appreciated. It was very obvious that the owner and management of this hotel focus on good service and guest satisfaction.

The only negative thing I could say is regarding the sound from the room next to us. The walls of the hotel are so thin that you can clearly hear other people coming/leaving (and doing other things in their room) during the night, which was a bit disturbing. As the elevator was just outside the room, you also heard the sound from it. I would recommend that something is done about this.
If you are looking for a small and modern boutique hotel in a quiet location with excellent service, this is the place to go. We had a much better stay than expected and would definitely stay at the Witt Istanbul Suites again if we return to Istanbul. However, when you go to Istanbul, be careful with cab/taxi drivers, who try to fool you.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights on our vacation and loved everything about the hotel. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We also loved the location in a charming neighborhood close to all the big sites. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to all our friends

We absolutely loved our stay at the Witt. The Witt Istanbul is a gorgeous, trendy boutique hotel. Everything about this place was top quality. The design of the rooms and bathrooms was beautiful, and the rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. (The shower, with the multiple shower heads was a real hit with us!) Moreover, the breakfast buffet was wonderful, with options of freshly made omelets or an assortment of fruits (fresh and dried), cereals, cheeses, pastries, and more. Finally, each time we came into the hotel from having been out, the staff offered us complimentary bottled water. The owner and his wife were extremely nice people (he's a graduate of Rutgers) and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed there with my husband for 4 nights. I liked the hotel for the following reason:

- The design and interior of the room was trendy and stylish
- Room was huge with proper sitting area and had consideration for families. We did not use it but there was small & stylish kitchen attached
- Bed was comfortable
- Breakfast was delicious
-Staff were super friendly, caring and helpful.
- Located in the center area close to major areas where you can walk and enjoy the feel of that area
-Love the shower with mutiple spa shower heads

To talk about minor downside, the room we stayed (it was on 3rd floor) was a bit dark and didnt have a view - but again that was not a big problem.

Overall, when I think about the hotel, it makes me have the memory of warm, kind and caring staff in cool and stylish boutique hotel in such a marvelous city.

When we booked the Wit Istanbul we knew we were in for a treat, but only when we arrived did we fully understand how wonderful this would be. Located in a very bohemian section of the city, the exterior of the hotel presented itself in a understated and elegant way. No flashing lights or garish signage, the facade is more high end apartment than hotel. Upon entering the stylishly appointed lobby (envision modern+comfort with candles, warm ambient lighting and tiny halogen spotlights) we were very pleased to be greeted by the young and genial staff. At check-in they graciously attended to our immediate needs (drinks, comfy seating), then patiently "walked" us through the neighborhood (by map) giving us a quick overview of the hotel's proximity to all the high points in the city.
After they ordered dinner for us from a local restaurant to be delivered to our room (the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, however, they do provide a full breakfast each morning in the lobby or delivered to your suite) the staff guided us to our suite.

Upon entering our suite, we were pleasantly surprised to find a spacious and cozy environment, beautifully designed and appointed as the lobby. The bed was very comfortable, the sofa and the rocking chair provided excellent lounging and there was plenty of closet space along with an in-room safe. Our suite (and I suppose all) included a bar/sink/refrigerator/microwave island that included a limited bar (wine, vodka, gin) coffees and teas, and drinks/snacks in the refrigerator. The bathroom walls and floor were lined in striped marble, while the all glass walk-in shower, fitted with a "rainforest" shower head simply washed any travel stress away. The Molton Brown soaps and lotions along with the soft and thirsty Turkish towels made the bathroom experience very enjoyable.

Being situated in a quiet neighborhood allowed us to sleep silently through the night to wake up totally refreshed. And because of its convenient location, we were able to walk to the nearby antiques and art gallery district, languish in the local hip cafes and restaurants and visit the beautiful Istanbul Modern Art Museum on the Bosphorus Strait.

Needless to say, our stay at the Wit was a highlight during our visit to Istanbul. We would definitely stay there on our next visit!

The Hill - yes it's steep!
Nespresso machine - BYO pods as they are 3 euro each!
Nice organic/health food shop across the road that does a nice lemonade at its outside table
Nearby Aga Haman very good and they will come and pick you up (just expect some typical Istanbul driving!) - 60TL a person + tip
good wine shop 5 mins up the road - in-room wine cost 2.5 times as much
nice breakfast, excellent Turkish coffee and the freshly-squeezed OJ keeps on coming
nice library of guide books and general stuff about Istanbul but rather limited range of DVDs - unless you like action movies
Great staff - very anxious to please (which they do)
tram very handy
Istanbul - its brilliant!

Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are happy to spend the money.

Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
