“AMAZING STAY!”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

The Witt is the best place to stay if you want to explore Istanbul! The staff is so welcoming, always ready to help, the rooms are really spacious and confortable.
I felt like home! Could not recommend it enough!

This was my third trip to Istanbul. Obviously I like it there. I've seen all of the famous historical sites and this trip was about seeing Istanbul from the eyes of a local. The Witt is not too far from Taksim square but it is in a distinct neighborhood that is becoming revitalized with lots of cafés, restaurants and shops. The Witt is small and VERY personable. By the first everyone knew our names and the staff really seemed to enjoy recommending places for us to set and visit. It's also a fairly short walk to the Bosporus with its scenic views. The views for the hotels roof are stunning. The rooms are large. Very large. I think most come with a small kitchenette, not that we needed it but nice to have. It is located on a rather steep street so just a word of caution for those with limited mobility. At the same time there are plenty of taxis and they are quite inexpensive.

Stayed here in May 2014 for three nights in their Queens Panorama top floor room.
- front desk was very very helpful (before trip restaurant reservation and private tour arrangement), during stay last minute arrangements
- excellent neighbourhood away from the hassle of the old town but just close enough to be very reachable to all the major tourist sites
- breakfast was excellent and the Turkish coffee was unbelievable
We will come back and give the variety and number of good hotels available in Istanbul ... That's a big shout!

My husband and I had spent 2 weeks traveling throughout Turkey at adequate hotels. When I booked the Witt for our final 3 nights I was hoping to end our vacation in style and The Witt did not disappoint. It has all of the charm of a small boutique hotel but with spacious "tricked out" suites. Our room had a view of the Galata Tower. The front desk service was personalized and professional. The breakfast choices were extensive and if it wasn't laid out they were happy to make it for you. Coffee was prepared any way you preferred. The location was ideal; tucked on a quiet street a block from the train and any number of neighborhoods to discover on foot.

Very personable staff really made our stay relaxing.
The position of the hotel was good. The walk back to the hotel was great exercise though slightly gruelling at end of day.
There were no spruikers outside which does make a difference.
However the magic of this place is in the staff attention, professionalism and kindness.
I would stay again.

We had an amazing stay at Witt. The hotel is wonderful and hotel staff are attentive and generally available 24 hours . The rooms are just like in the pictures, although some are better than others. We stayed for 3 nights and we're upgraded to a large corner room in the 4th floor (42) from our initial room assigned on the first floor (11), which was great but had too little views, slightly awkward room distribution (can't see the TV from the bed) and a very large column in the center of the room visually eating up most of the 45sqm. The second room is a higher category well worth the spend in my view if you are already paying a steep price to stay here, might as well go for the wonderful views and extra sparkle. Both rooms had nespresso, xm radio, kitchenette, 6 head shower, king bed, designer furniture, etc... A special word for Emra as well, who was very attentive throughout our stay and who fixed everything for us. Making bookings at restaurants, jazz clubs etc and helpful touring and sightseeing suggestions, and with a friendly and polite appearance, he managed to make us feel special on this large city that is Istanbul. On the minor negatives, but which were promptly resolved with a personal touch, upon arrival wife wasn't working, the first day we did not have our room serviced because the do not disturb button was accidentally left on (Careful!), the second day some toiletries were not replaced and a flower pot we requested wasn't arranged without explanation). However this was probably due to the fact that the hotel was at full capacity and the issues were quickly addressed. Breakfast is slightly limited (what you see on the room service menu is what you get downstairs so I would suggest having breakfast in the room which is at no extra charge).
Overall a great experience on our engagement trip (we got engaged over breakfast the first morning there in the Room!!), which the staff made more exquisite with their special attention, room upgrade, free cake and wine gifts for our engagement, and constant willingness to help. I definitely recommend the Hotel!

We stayed in the Penthouse, as well as the Grand King Panoramic room and both were wonderful. The Grand King Panoramic is much larger in space with a kitchenette. It truly felt grand when we walked into the spacious room and saw the marvelous views. Bathroom had a very large shower (only problem was that the glass door did not fully shut). The Penthouse felt a little tired compared to the Grand King Panoramic room, but the floor to ceiling windows, wrap around terrace and sweeping views (same views as the Grand King panoramic but one flight up) more than made up for it. I will always remember waking up to that incredible view of the Golden Horn, Old City and Bosphorus. What really stands out about this boutique hotel is the service. From the moment we made reservations to the moment we checked out, the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. They reserved shuttles for us, stored baggage for us while we went on a side trip and were kind enough to accommodate a 4am breakfast. Breakfast was more than sufficient (scrambled eggs were made perfectly!), and we truly enjoyed eating breakfast on the terrace of the Penthouse. They do not have 24 hour room service like a bigger hotel but they accommodate in other ways. One night we were too tired to go out to dinner so they ordered a meal for us from a local kebab place and it was delicious. Another time we went to a local restaurant (Alchemist) based on the concierge's recommendation and the food was very good. The Cihangir location was great, close to many restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. The hotel is very close to Istanbul Modern (which was a fun way to spend a morning). The tram is just down the hill, but coming up the hill after a long day is a bit tiring. We sometimes took a taxi back because of this. I would stay at the Witt again, it made our first trip to Istanbul magical.

Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
