we stayed in Dec. 2009 in witt istanbul suites and it was worth it. The room is very beautiful, the decoration is stylish, very clean, spacious and compfortable! The service provided lived up to our expectations, as the staff was friendly and ready to help us anytime. The location is central, not on the taxim square (which is better, because its noisy), but very close to it, walking distance from it and from the tram. I liked it and i will definitely go there again, when i visit Istanbul, which by the way, is a magical city, a combination of modern and traditional. People are friendly, having a good time going out and dancing, drinking, listening to music, and on the other hand you see everywhere the muslim element of living. In the bathroom, the shower is unique, because of its structure. We stayed on the 1st floor, so the view of the city was poor, but the inside of the hotel compensates for this, plus i dont think the view is very important parameter. Tipp: negotiate everything on the bazaar, these people love it, its in their blood, at the beginning i was feeling weird about negotiating a price, but they expect you to negotate, its weird if you dont do it! Last but not least, the hamam experience! Its a must, you see what im talking about, when you do it. Just look for trustworthy places. Good luck!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more less
