What can I say, from start to finish just one enjoyable experience. As the title suggests, this is one gem of a hotel - tucked away in a quiet street. From the outside it looks nothing special until you walk into the reception and then it all starts to become apparent. The front desk staff could not be more helpful, with suggestions and recommendations. Always on hand to give advice and use their local knowledge. That said - Istanbul was made for exploring, so don't be afraid to embrace this wonderful city.

Bit the 'real' joy are the wonderful bedrooms, which have everything you would expect from any self respecting 'boutique' hotel. A good size room with, a small kitchenette and bar. Ample room to spread out and a to die for walk in shower. Breakfast is an informal affair but the food is delightful and the Turkish coffee just what is required to kick start the day.

It is very good value for what you get and we will be returning for sure.

Very nice hotel. We tayed there for three days (27/11-30/11/2010) and find this hotel to be really what all the enthusiastic reviews described. Elegant design, spacious rooms, very good location, friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely go back.

I have to say this is now my favourite hotel. Everything about this hotel is fabulous.
The staff are incredibly helpful with anything you may need. All the restaurants that were recommended were great....Changa (only a short walk from the hotel) is one I would highly recommend. Our open plan spotlessly clean suite was spacious and modern with well designed furniture . We had lots of natural light from the four large windows in our suite that opened on to small balconies. We looked forward to returning to our suite every night and to the chocolate cupcakes left in our room ( a very nice touch). The included breakfast was delicious and you could either eat in the breakfast room or have it brought to your suite. The location in the Beyoglu neighbourhood was perfect for us. We could walk to Taksim and to Istiklal Caddesi -the major shopping street full of shops, restaurants and bars. The tram station was just a short walk down the hill that would take us to Sultanhamet . We could also walk to Istanbul Modern -the museum of modern art. I have to say that we felt very safe walking in this neighbourhood even late at night. With such a great location, amazing staff and a beautifully designed hotel, why stay anywhere else.

We stayed at the W the first night we arrived in Istanbul and our friend requested that we should try Witts and we did. We stayed there two nights and loved it. It is mins' walk away from public transport and is in a quite nighbourhood. The rooms and the common areas had all you could expect out of a design hotel. Our room was very spacious and was equipped with an open kitchen. I expect another longer stay next next we visit beautiful Istanbul.

We loved this inconspicuous hotel perched on a hill in the Cihangir neighbourhood. The staff on the front desk - John and Aykut were very helpful. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast spread. Our spacious corner room (# 52) had a fabulous view. We enjoyed the rainfall shower, the little kitchen area, the Witt slippers and the possibility of having breakfast delivered to our room (at no added expense). The AC wasn't working well (it was Nov. but still warm) and there were mosquitoes if we opened the window, so that was a bit of a drag. Otherwise, a find!

The rooms at the Witt were amazing- really well designed rooms with beautiful furniture, great clean bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries. A great buffet breakfast was included in a lovely breakfast room. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The area is interesting and at the chaotic end of the Istanbul spectrum, but close to some lovely restaurants and the Istanbul Modern. Highly recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
