“Small rooms, good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2013 via mobile

My partner and i stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was tiny, as was the bathroom. But you don't spend much time in your room. The location is excellent, close to the tram stations and also easy walking distance to pretty much everything! Blue mosque, grand bazaar, aya Sophia, restaurants.

Staff are friendly and helpful, with some knowing English better than others. It is a little over priced for what the hotel is. But it's the location you pay for I guess. Breakfast and wifi is good.

Our room must have shared a vent with another room. As one morning we woke and could smell a strong smell of cigarette smoke, and another time a real fruity sme... Sheesha maybe?

If we were in Istanbul for 1-2 nights than no prob, but if you are here for longer suggest you stay somewhere else.

We've been in Hatay hotel from September, 27 to October, 1 with my wife. What I can say - the location of the hotel is the largest advantage of it. Hotel located quite close to most touristic sites, and to seafront as well. Also tram stop Sirkeci in about 5 minutes walking from hotel, so you can easily reach Galata and Taksim Square. Staff also is very friendly and helpful. On the other side it is quite noisy in the room, because that is the street where tram goes is close, and rooms are small, even tiny, however there is all necessary in the room (except cups, but we brought our own :)). So, Hatay hotel it is not the place to stay all the day, of course, but if you want to spend night somewhere in comfort, and continue exploring Istanbul at the morning - that is excellent place to be.

If you are going to fly all the way to Istanbul and stay a few days don't stay at a Hatay. On the good side the rooms were very clean, the front desk service was great and the location is excellent. But there are lots of hotels in Istanbul where you could find same. On the down side the rooms have no cups, in our room there was no space at all, no restaurant, really noisy all night. My husband was sick for a few days and he was stuck in the room and got cabin fever. We stayed elsewhere on our last night in Turkey and marvels at the extras.

We stayed at the Antioch for 10 days, and we had an excellent reception from the staff.
Rooms are clean and spacious.
We also loved the location near by all transportation (Tram, taxi..) and near the important monuments in Istanbul.
We wont miss coming back here again and again and again.

I've been in the Antioch (same hotel group in front of Hatay) from 20 september 2013 to the 29th with my familly. The Hotel is located in a very nice location close to most historical sites, you can easily walk to them (blue mosque, hagia sofia, basilic cistern, Topkapi, Spice Bazar and even Grand Bazar) and to different transportations to reach different points in istanbul (Tramway, bus and boat). Rooms are clean and staff are very professional and friendly.
Breakfast is good for almost all tastes. Don't hesitate to ask staff help. Telkin and all the others are very helpful. If you need internet access the hotel has 2 desktops available for free in the lobby.
I will definitely come back to this hotel whenever I'm staying in istanbul.
It's suitable for both friends and families.

The hotel location is very good that allows you to travel to any place you like easily, the people working at the hotel are very kind and helpful specially the receptionist that he made us a daily plane to visit the most interesting places with a lowest costs. The food was very nice with multi selections. The prices were very good.
I advise every body to go to this hotel, and I will never hesitate to go there again and again.

The Hatay hotel is well located, allowing you to explore Istanbul on foot. I stayed there a couple of times in my way in and out of Turkey. My first room was disappointing, sparsely appointed and directly next to the lift shaft on the top level, keeping me awake during the night with the clunking as the lift screeched to a halt. Thankfully on my second stay I was in a different, smaller room, and it was far more comfortable.
As with most hotels in Turkey, there is often a blanket or bed cover with no top sheet provided. It was summer, so I bought a bed sheet (there's a linen store not far from the hotel, which was a happy find) and slept under that.
The staff were great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. I felt safe and reasonably comfortable there, but for the same price there are a number of nicer hotels in the vicinity. The only reason I stayed there a second time was that I had already booked and paid for the room.
