“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The reviews before have said most of what I want to say but I will elaborate a bit because it is such a nice place to stay!
Location - so close to all the attractions, only 5 minutes to the Blue Mosque, the palace, walking distance to Grand Bazaar and Spice Markets. Plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from and just ask the hotel staff as they made great recommendations for us
Breakfast - plentiful and tasty, served with a view of the water.
Staff - so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much for them.
Room - we were on the 3rd floor in a deluxe room, we did not have a view but the room was a good size, good shower, comfortable bed and warm.

A special mention to Hamit - thank-you for all your advice on where to buy coffee and the pot to make the coffee in! It is certainly worth shopping around to get the best price. Hamit even gave us the history behind the carpet making in Turkey in the little souvenir shop that they also run which was great.
Would definitely recommend this hotel - great location, awesome staff and overall probably the best 3 star hotel we have stayed in!

We recently spent five nights at the Osmanhan hotel and were very impressed with the friendly welcome and attention from all the staff.
The room was clean and comfortable with lovely furnishings, modern shower room, mini fridge , free safe and tea/coffee making facilities.
The breakfast was varied and plentiful and served on the roof terrace with beautiful views of the Old City and the Sea of Marmara.
The location was ideal, close to all the major attractions of Istanbul and with a huge variety of resaurants close by.
Sultanhamet tram stop is about 5 mins walk away, this takes you to the airport so you don't need to take taxis.

We spent 5 nights here while visiting Istanbul. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is in a quiet location but most everything that you'll want to see in Istanbul can be reached on foot or by a short tram ride. We'll certainly stay here on our next visit to Istanbul.

We stayed at the Osmanhan for 7 nights and it was perfect in everyway. Location was ideal for touring around with lots of bars/restaurants round the corner. We stayed in the ground floor room which was behind the reception but had no problems sleeping and the room was perfect in size with comfy double bed, mini bar,tv and modern bathroom facilities- lovely hot shower. WiFi was also free with a strong connection. Buffet breakfast was great with plenty of choice every day and stunning views. Hospitality of the staff was excellent, rooms cleaned spotlessly and nothing was too much trouble, with 24 hour reception available to assist at any time! We even booked our airport transfers and they promptly met us at the airport on arrival, return transfer was equally ha hassle free.overall great value for money too. Would strongly recommend staying at this hotel and can't wait to go back!

Sorry I ticked the fitness centre box (there isn't one!)but with all the walking you will do whilst exploring, this is not needed! Although walking to the breakfast room at the top of the hotel in the morning is a great way to start the day!

Room Tip: Only 7 rooms, all of a high standard!

Our party of 4 stayed at the Osmanhan for 9 nights. It was an oasis for us as we toured Istanbul. The staff are welcoming, gracious and competent. Our rooms, while not large, were attractive, clean, homey. The beds are comfortable and the showers hot. The internet is consistent and strong throughout. There is a safe in each room, a heated towel rack, a kettle and small refrigerator. The breakfast served in the terrace was delicious and offered a wide variety of dishes (meats, cheeses, eggs, fruits, cereal, pastries, dolmas, and traditional Turkish dishes.) When my husband mentioned he liked the pickled peppers, he was immediately served his own small plate. Breakfast offered unending cups of rich coffee and Turkish tea - a real bonus for us heavy coffee and tea drinkers. Enjoying a lovely breakfast while looking out over the city and the Bosporous is a great way to start a day of sightseeing.

I had many questions in the months prior to our arrival and they were answered promptly and courteously. We chose the Osmanhan because of its great reviews, its proximity to the major sights in the old part of Istanbul and because of its modest price. We were not disappointed. It's location is very convenient and we walked many places.

During our stay we were extended many courtesies. For example, when it rained we were offered umbrellas. When we asked for directions we were given detailed maps. They even helped move our daughter's and her boy friend's luggage to the hostel next door at the end of the nine days. (They were staying a few days longer in Istanbul and wanted even less expensive lodging.) The staff at the Osmanhan had noted how fond our daughter and boy friend were of their breakfasts and invited them to come back for breakfast each day if they liked. When our friends, who were staying at another local hotel came by to meet us, they were immediately offered tea in the lobby while they waited for us to come down from our rooms.

On our last morning we had to leave pre-dawn. My husband and I went to the terrace for a final look at the old town, and the Bosporous in the early light. A crescent moon hung in the sky and the sung morning prayers began reverberating throughout the city. A song bird sang. It was an exquisite moment.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 41. It had 4 windows, which we liked, a view of the city and the Bosporous. On t...

... to explore Istanbul. I was travelling with friends, on our way to Nepal. We stopped in Istanbul for just 2 nights in order to see a few of the famous sights and get a feel for the city. I had never been there before. I chose the Osmanhan based on Trip Advisor reviews. It richly deserves the glowing reviews it has received. It's a fantastic place - beautiful rooms, perfect location, impeccable service, and the most helpful, friendly staff I've ever experienced. It fits the definition of a boutique hotel perfectly. They have carefully reviewed different tour and event options, and their recommendations are very good - completely trustworthy. When we arrived, bleary-eyed and disoriented from our long flight, the owner/manager did not just describe how to get to the nearest ATM and give us a map with the location clearly marked, he sent his nephew with us to show us the way!

Room Tip: I had a deluxe room on the 4th floor. I can highly recommend it - a bit bigger with a nice view. My...

We stayed one night on the recommendation of friends. We were very happy with our choice. As soon as we walked into the lobby, we were offered a cup of tea and a visit with the staff. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and very quaint, with views of the street below. The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied, and was served on the terrace on white linen tablecloths. Hamit and the rest of the staff were very gracious and helpful, which made us feel valued and as if we were more than just customers.
