“Istanbul's gem”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

You cannot ask for a better place. The place is located in heart of the city. Osmanhan Hotel is walking distance to all the major historical attractions in Istanbul. We also usually took a quick tram ride to the historic Grand bazaar. Being a small hotel offers a lot of advantages. We felt a personal touch with everything. The staff helped and guided us with everything from where to eat to where to shop with a smile. It was clear that everyone at Osmanhan knows a great deal about Istanbul, and are passionate about their city. The room itself was very clean and with all amenities.
We still savor the breakfast and the view of the Bosphorus from the terrace. Osmanhan is surely a gem among a myriad of Istanbul hostels.

What can I say about this hotel that has not already been said?
Booked this hotel based on tripadvisor recommendations. Was not disappointed.
Location location location! Literally four minute walk from the blue Mosque. In the heart of the old city. Seven rooms only the hotel. Just be careful with the stairs which can be a little sleep. There is no lift but that is made clear on their website. We took a deluxe room which was very clean neat and tidy with a very clean and well-kept bathroom.
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast on the balcony was very pleasant in the mornings with a view over the Bosphorus.
This hotel was an ideal base from which to explore the historical sites in Istanbul.
I have no hesitation in recommending it and would definitely go back again and stay there.

The hotel is located in an area full of restaurants and literally around the corner from the major attractions, but is not on the main road so is quiet. Easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern as well as the tram.
The room we had was in the basement and was small but ok for our needs. It was very comfortable. One thing to note is that breakfast is served on the roof terrace and there are 67 steps and no lift.
The staff were helpful and phoned the bus company when we were waiting for a pick up and they were slightly late.
Highly recommended.

I recommend Osmanhan Hotel to everyone who wants to stay at a clean and safe hotel in Istanbul.
It's not only clean and safe, but also has an warm atmosphere.
When we arrived, the owners Hamit and Mustafa welcomed us with smile and asked us if we were tired or not.
The staffs were also helpful and gentle.

They gave us their original map giving useful information about Sultanahmet, which you can't get from guidebooks.

Our room was clean and well-equipped.
They cleaned every corner of room every day.

The breakfast was very fine.
Tea, filtered coffee, bread, eggs, jam, cake, vegetables and fruits, all of them were fresh.
we enjoyed the view of sea from the terrace on which we had breakfast.

You can sleep at a comfortable room and have wonderful breakfast in Osmanhan Hotel.
I recommend it.

Room Tip: If you want to be close to the roof-top terrace, you should stay at No,41 or 42.

I stayed at Osmanhan Hotel with my husband and children for 3 nights.
Though Osmanhan isn’t a big five-star hotel, I think it gets high points as well as them. We had a chance to meet the owners Hamit and Mustafa, who are brothers. They and staff are always gentle and caring customers’ comfort, quality of breakfast, cleanliness of rooms and so on.

We loved everything of this hotel, especially the breakfast served at the roof top terrace with a super view. They’re preparing fresh vegetables, fruits, hot omelets, fresh-baked bread, freshly brewed tea, coffee and home-made cake. We also enjoyed the panoramic view of Marmara Sea, Asian side and Princes Islands.

When we looked around from the terrace, we could find only a few hotels serving breakfast on their terrace. And, we also carefully looked at other hotels in Sultanahmet and learned that most of them are giving breakfast service on the ground floors or the basements. (Sorry, but we wanted research the quality of the other hotels in the same area. If you want, you can easily learn from outside where hotels are serving breakfast.)

We really loved Osmanhan Hotel. 3 nights were short for us. We want to stay at the hotel again if we go to Istanbul at the second time. We also recommend Osmanhan Hotel to all tourists.

Highlights of the hotel are the attentive and helpful staff, the boutique style and local flavour, the central location and the very good breakfasts served on the rooftop with sea views. During our week stay we felt welcomed and comfortable. Osmanhan is ideally situated in Sultanamhet, easy walking distance to the main sites. The friendly staff certainly give this hotel the edge. Hakan, on the desk, gave us much helpful advice including tips to some excellent restaurants (eg Tria Elegance, Buhara and a delicious fish restaurant close by, Baliki Sabahattin). Hakan also introduced us to Turkish coffee. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace with indoor and outdoor options and all with a view over the rooftops and out to sea. In this relaxing and sunny space we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts with hot and cold options, all fresh and varied including freshly cooked omelettes. Our room was on the second floor. In the European tradition it was small but a good use of space. Rooms on the next two floors are larger. We had room for our two large bags and comfortable for a week's stay. Bar frig, tea and coffee making facilities, effectively functioning bathroom, and a good sized mirror apart from the one in the bathroom. All very clean and attractively decorated. The street was usually quiet so not troubled by noise. The hotel organise an efficient transfer to and from the airport. Wifi is free and works well. Our stay in Istanbul, which we loved, was enhanced by this warm and friendly hotel that made a point of making us feel at home. We would certainly return and highly recommend. Thank you Osmanhan for a wonderful stay.

Highly recommend this property. Spent two nights at the start of a visit to Turkey 03/21/14 and the remaining three nights of the trip. The deluxe rooms on the third and four floor are comfortable, well appointed and spotless. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious and the weather was warm enough to sit on the terrace for at least some of our stay. We took beautiful pictures at sunset from this vista. As many reviewers have noted, the hotel is centrally located in Sultanament, within walking distance to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and the tram line. All members of the hotel staff were helpful and always available to answer questions. We hope that we have the opportunity to return to this property.

Room Tip: we selected a deluxe room.
