“It is real sensation of real Istanbul”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2009

We tried to keep this hotel as our secret, we tried to save this marvelouse piece of real Turkish and Byzantium world only for us. And now we have decided to share it with you becouse we are sure if you want to know about real Istanbul you must stay in Osmanhan Hotel.
Two general subjects make this hotel as unique place.
First of all there are people. Volcan and Hamit created and drive Osmanhan Hotel. Of course, they are special people and you feel it from first words and first view in Osmanhan Hotel, they hire well trained and as extremely polite as it posiible only in Byzsantium and Istanbul personnel. (And believe us you never foget Vlocan's cakes)

The second subject is location, of courcse. We know Istanbul very well - we walked over all new and old streets - and when we up to the terrace of Osmanhan Hotel for breakfast or for our romantic evening with bottle of excelent Capadocia wine we see the Maramara, Golden Horn and Prince Ilands. If you open any book of Orhan Pamuk and up your eyes from pages to this view you feel like time is changed and you are in Istanbul world of greatest Turkish writer. Saddenly you hear a call of greengrocer from the street, you look down to small street wich cuts the area as many streets of old town and sensation of real Istanbul fill up you soul. You look up againg forward to the Maramara and Prince Ilands and you feel by each cell of your soul like something great old and beatiful shine beside you in sunset rays - it is Aya-Sofia. You are so close to this eternaty place that you can touch it.
This is Osmanhan Hotel and only this hotel can give these feelings.

This new hotel has just 8 rooms. It is very comfortable and cosy. Sometimes the staff struggle a bit to get things right, but were always helpful. Good enough breakfast with nice view of Sea of Marmara. Beware of the steep climb to the Sultanahmet area attractions.

Stayed at the Osmanhan for 5 nights in late May after reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor and wanting a centrally located base in Sultanamet from which to explore the sights of Istanbul. Was not disappointed. Great location, friendly and attentive staff (especially Fatih) and a comfortable stay. Very cosy and you are very well looked after and again mentioning the very helpfull staff and always make you feel welcome.

There were 8 of us in total and all of us thouroghly enjoyed our trip and the hotel - recommend to all, best place to stay in istanbul

Mukhtar, Sabina & the rest of the crazy bunch!!

First of all, I definitely recommend this hotel. I normally don't trust reviews too much, but this time all the good things (and a few small flaws) mentioned by other reviewers about the hotel are true.

Pros: Very cozy and clean (everything is new), nice rooftop terrace with great view, very friendly and helpful staff (among the best I have seen), 5-10 minutes walk from major tourist attractions in Sultanhamet, lots of restaurants around, very safe, high-speed Internet -- all in all, the hotel offers very good value for the money.

Cons: Rooms are just a little small, but there is still sufficient room (and there is an option of ordering a bigger room for extra 10 Euros). A little noisy during the day due to construction near the hotel (it's a temporary problem though).

If you are looking for luxury, it's going to cost more than 75 Euros per night, but if you need a clean, cozy and conveniently located place with all the key amenities, but still affordable, it's your hotel.
