It is said, they serve the best köfte in Istanbul, sure, it can be. But the spice sauce they give additional as dip to the plate, is kind of unbelievable, however it is really spicy, so take care!
Everything is quite simple and you will be served very rush, so this is not the place where you can sit hours and watch the people around.
Everybody drank ayran, this turkish yoghurt drink to the spicy lunch, and huge part of the guests were turkish people. Real Istanbul feeling, I offer everybody to have lunch there!

This place is believed to be the oldest koftecisi restaurant in the area, but it is really a canteen, serving a very limited amount of food. The star dish is bland and you need a whole load of chilli paste for any sort of flavour. The bean salad is ok. It is reasonably priced. I would recommend you look elsewhere for better turkish food.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. Most people order the lentil soup to begin with and follow it up with the kofte, pickle and butter milk. It served one of the softest kofte (meatballs) i've had at such reasonable prices. The service was prompt and the place was full of locals and tourists alike. The fact that is is so close to the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque makes it a very convenient lunch/dinner stop.

We were 2 people who were heading to sit at a table for 4, we had not even sat down when the staff came and requested us to shift to a table for 2 to accommodate the other guests streaming in and we gladly obliged. At the end of our meal, we received dessert on the house as a token of apology for the inconvenience caused !

I would definitely go here again !

Quick Tip : There is another place called 'Sultanahmet Koftecisi' 3 shops away from the real one. Dont enter the first one you see after Hagia Sofia but walk just a few steps further.

This place is in the heart of the sultanahmet tourist district and often has a queue out the front. Seeing this I thought I would not be very good. I decided to give it a go on a Wednesday night and walked straight in. I had the lamb kofte and bean salad. The kofte were amazing- moist, great charcoal flavour and plentiful. The bean salad was light and refreshing and the perfect compliment to the kofte. The restaurant doesn't have great decor or atmosphere but they pump out the food and the service is polite and efficient

The best kufte I have ever had... I also liked the restaurant's environment...
It was recommended to me by one of istanbul citizens. Iranian guys love kebap like most middle eastern, but most of them are not familiar whit kufte kebap maybe because of the similarity of its name with another dish, "koofte". In my view, Kufte kebap is much more delicious than koofte and the best place for testing it, is sultanahmet kuftecisi... The mix of parsely and onion is also amazing and is a must eat salad.
