“Good choice!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014

The location of this hotel is very close to historical center of Istanbul. So it is very convenient to get a lot of sightseeing places just by walk. Alaaddin Hotel is a very nice place. Small but clean rooms, internet, very friendly, hospitable and always ready to help personnel.

In the old centre of Istanbul, near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Small hotel. Small rooms but very clean. Correct service. Buffet is correct but not very luxurious. Terrace with views. Wi-Fi works. Great value if you are not a ***** traveller. I will go again. Highly recommended.

This is an acceptable choice in a fine location, near the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and bazaars. The room is very small, even by the standard of moderately priced hotels in European cities and, as a result was pretty inconvenient. The breakfast was just plain bad, with poor quality renditions of some of the standard Turkish hotel breakfast fare, undrinkable tea and coffee, and no fruit. On the up side, The staff was very helpful. The price is low but even at that, not sure it's worth the money.

The room is VERY small (even with hoteis.com website offering me a 18 square meters room, the hotel gave me a small one) and the breakfest is disgusting. There are no fruits (only some pieces of water melon) and the staff is not very friendly (except for a guy, during the check-out). There is only one good point about the hotel, the location.

But I suggest to everyone to take a look at Ayasultan hotel (next to Alaaddin). It seems to be A LOT better for a small diference of price and a second opion to be consider is the Hagia Sofia Hotel Old City. A very nice hotel, in the same neighborhood for a small diference, as well.

Make a favor to yourself. Don't stay at alaaddin.

First we are really sorry about this comment and happening.

We just want explain to our guest in Sultanahmet Area all hotel has same problem the rooms are bit small this is because of buildings. The buildings are all historical. When you want make renovation you can not touch the walls or you can not make the rooms biggest. Yes our some rooms are small it s because of our building it’s a historical building. But the decorations of the rooms are use full designed.

The breakfast off the hotel is traditional there was other options but our guest only comment about water melon  We only use to serve the season fruit in our buffed and use to change it each day different fruit or which is most wants customers on the buffed.

We are sorry the comment about our staff I can say this is first review we got the customer complaining about staff also we will fix the problem immediately.

We are really sorry about the problems.

Best regards

If you are travelling to Istanbul, I suggest you check in "Alaaddin Hotel"
Small rooms, cozy, & located in the middle of Istanbul.
Perfect for travelers who are seeking for a cheap place, & able to visit and discover Istanbul.
They offer Breakfast.
And their staff is able to help you in all your concern

This hotel is a unique one... our room was directly above the lobby so we had street front windows. It was fun to listen to the noises outside, but could be bothersome for light sleepers. We invented the name "shower-bath" for what was in the bathroom as there was a Jacuzzi tub, shower walls, but the shower head was out of the tub and didn't have anything on the wall to prop it on... so we took a "shower-bath" to wash. Other than that, our room was clean and beds were comfy. The breakfast was delicious! The staff were so friendly... they made sure that we had what we needed when we set out each day, and then checked in on us in the afternoon. They were quick to make any reservations we wanted, and arranged transportation. They even taught us a little Turkish! The location of the hotel was terrific - easy walking distance to almost anything in the historical area of Istanbul... easy access to tourist sites, great restaurants, and more!
