we spent 4 days in istanbul, and Malkoc was located just near our hotel. as we were wondering up towards the four seasons, my 4 year old son took a liking to the young man out front, so we promised we would come the following day. The bread was amazing, home made in a traditional style. The lamb kabab was the best we had had in istanbul and the service was so friendly and kind hearted that we went back the following day. The price was also very good compared with other places in the area. The decor is simple,. but the food and service make up for this! We left feeling like we were a part of the family!

We were in Istanbul for 10 days and ate at this place near where we were staying in Sultanahmet twice. It is just a touch off the main drag. They have a young guy out the front calling people in and two older guys lining up the food. We had a kid with us and they were exceptionally kind and helpful and making sure we had something for him to eat, and didnt mind if he went for a wander around the restaurant.

The food there is very good and we found that whereas in most other places in the area doing mixed grills and and breads with a few glasses of wine were lifting about 100 YTL or 50 Euro off us these guys were coming in at about 75 YTL. The restaurant itself is comfortable enough without being either outstanding or spartan. No idea on whether they take reservations or not, but they were open fairly late.

We have just returned from our second vist to the Malkoc in Sultanahmet area of Istanbul. It was a handy distance from our Hotel the Amiral Palace (can recommend this Hotel too) We decided to return here after an excellent meal we had a couple of days previously, the restaurant serves Turkish cuisine as well as a few international dishes. We really enjoyed our meal again and would highly recommend this restaurant for good quality food at a very good price.

We spent the first time in Istanbul, 7 days, and the second time, 2 days. We discovered this restaurant during our first stay and we left for one month around Turkey. During our trip we realised that this restaurant gave us the best. On our way back in Istanbul, we ran back to this place because they serve the best simple food we had in Turkey for a reasonnable price. The personnel is fabulous to.

My husband and I, and our 11 year old twins enjoyed our meal at Malkoc. It was in walking distance from our hotel "sultanahmet palace", and the main attractions near the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. It is very close to the Four Seasons hotel as well. This area was fun to walk around in, as it had many cafes, restaurants, and shops.

Our waiter was friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside. The food was nicely presented and tasted great.
