“Comfortable and friendly stay at the Berce Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

After 15 days touring around Turkey staying at large 5 stars hotels, it was just so exquisite to be actually met and welcomed at the door of the Berce Hotel. The manager Mehmet was so warm and helpful with our luggage and information for around the Sultanahmet we instantly felt relaxed and "at home". Our room had everything that we required as well as working wifi and airconditioning.
The roof top terrace has wonderful views of the sea and Blue Mosque, we took our bottle of wine up to the terrace the first night to watch the sunset, before long Mehmet arrived with peanuts and sultanas for us and to check that everything was ok. The Hotels attention to all our needs was outstanding. The breakfast on the terrace each morning was a delight with more choices than we could possibly eat.
The Berce is so close to all the tourist highlights, we walked all over taking in the Hagia sophia, blue mosque, Topkapi palace and bazaars.
At night we had the pick of restaurants all close to the Berce.
Our only regret is that we did not stay long enough, we booked for 2 nights. On the third day we were able to leave out luggage there whilst we did last minute shopping, and than Mehmet orgainised a taxi for us to the airport. We would definitely stay at the Berce Hotel if we ever went back.

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor and had three balconies, very quiet and clean.

We were very happy with two nights at the Berce in May: helpful staff, roof breakfast, good location, attractive area with cobbled streets, in easy walking distance of the Hagia Sofia and other main attractions. Would gladly come again.

Great location, just walking distance from everything, Mehmet was very helpful, room was clean and good. Breakfast was delicious and the view was dreamy, check in time was two o clock, but we were able to get our room at 10 am. will stay here again.

Great location. Staff was exceptional. Nice little hotel. Stayed in basement room, it was too loud, could hear street noise etc. The tub in the bathroom was too high, if you are very tired a great potential to trip and fall. Breakfast was good. Views were nice.

This hotel is very small but in a great location. The room was beautifully arranged and a very interesting shape. The manager, Mehmet, was extremely helpful in providing maps and information. He also recommended a good, inexpensive restaurant nearby. Though not a problem for us, if you are thinking of staying there you should be aware that there is a fairly steep marble staircase that you must climb to the breakfast area and terrace, and there is nowhere convenient to park.

I stayed at the Berce hotel in Istanbul about a month ago. The hotel was in a great spot in the Sultanahmet area, tucked away in a nice quiet part. It was really close to most of the big attractions by foot. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful if you had any questions about the city. You could tell that they really cared for you and wanted to make sure you had a great stay not only at their hotel, but also in their country. Breakfast was included and I usually don't expect much of included food when travelling but theirs was actually great. It consisted of a lot of local cheeses, in season fruit and of course your typical eggs, sausage and toast type items. Sitting up on the terrace for breakfast, overlooking the Sea of Marmara was a great way to start your day. I would definitely stay at the Berce hotel again if I ever went back. The only thing I would recommend for next time is requesting a room on one of the upper levels as our ground level room didn't have much sunlight. Other than that though it was clean and good place to stay.

Room Tip: Request a room on the upper levels if you can for some natural light.

I have to start giving back to TripAdvisor after traveling over seas multiple times in the last few years. I found this gem of a hotel off of TripAdvisor and could not be more thankful for finding it.

First off, the hotel is located with-in a few hundred feet of all the main attractions in the quiet portion the Old City, yes there is construction but it didn't wake us up since we are here to tour not sleep all day. You couldn't ask for a better location, where as the other portions of the OLD City all seemed like tourists traps. The rooms were very nice, our room had three balconies, and the breakfast was good.

Second, throw away or don't purchase a travel book. Mehmet, the hotel manager did a great job planning out three day stay in Istanbul for us, giving us a map and suggestions on what sites to hit at what times. Mehmet was a very kind and generous man and wish we could have spent more time with him just to chat.

Lastly we had the hotel organize the airport pick up and drop off, and would suggest it for guests. We didn't realize how far the old city is from the airport. Less stress and no hassle just contact the Hotel a few days before your trip via email and its all set.

If you plan on traveling to Istanbul in your future I would suggest spending your time here, for the value, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and most importantly the Location

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony! Arrange for Airport Transfer
