The rooms sounded great & two friends of ours stayed there and loved it. Three couples had booked separately for the same night. But I would never book there again. I walked in with a print-out from the Grand Peninsula clearly stating confirmation of my room for that night, and the reservation book at the front desk didn't have me listed. The man at the desk did try to be helpful, found us a room down the street and carried our bags down there, BUT we had booked a room the same as our friends, with balcony, etc. and then we still paid the same higher price for a tiny, tiny room with exposed electrical outlets at the substitute hotel.
A third couple and I had separately asked for reservations months ago for this particular night, the hotel answered that rooms were available for that night and asked us for our credit info. We both sent the credit info and after not hearing back again from them for several weeks, we each contacted the hotel separately again. My friends received an answer saying they were full. I tried a few days later and they confirmed a room for me, but as I wrote above, the confirmation email did not mean my reservation was actually confirmed. There is some problem between the way the bookings are made online and what actually gets booked at the front desk registry.More
