“Great Accommodations / Best Sevice”

I actually stayed at this hotel two years ago in October 2010 but my experience with them was so fantastic that I felt I had to add a positive review of this great hotel. Service was excellent, rooms were very clean and location was awesome. For example, when we arrived in Istanbul, it was one of my friends' birthday the day of. The front desk must have seen the birthday when we were checking in. Later that night, when we returned from a day of touring Istanbul, the staff had a birthday cake lit up and ready for her and for us to enjoy. It's a very cute boutique hotel and I doubt that you can get that kind of a service anywhere else.

We stayed for 3 nights in Sept 2012 and were super happy with our choice of this hotel. The room was clean and bright, contemporary decoration with all mod cons (no bath, but excellent shower). The staff were really helpful with what to see and how to get there, the wifi worked great, and the breakfast buffet was TREMENDOUS! The location was excellent, we walked everywhere and saw so many of the sights. We fully intend to visit Istanbul again and when we do we will book this hotel again, no question.

Hotel is well situated in the quieter old part of the city very near to a tram station. Rooms have air conditioning which is very efficient. You can walk to all the main attractions. The owner and her staff were very helpful, making sure you made the most of your stay. Breakfast was good with the normal continental style.

We stayed here twice: once at the beginning of our honeymoon and once at the end.
Our experience improved as time went on!

The negative:
- We checked in the first time really late as our flights were delayed and our room absolutely stunk of cigarettes despite it being non-smoking and had two single beds (not together but separate). I wanted to complain, but it was 1:00 in the morning and I really didn't have the energy.
The second bed was so noisy that the next night (when we weren't exhausted) my husband got absolutely no sleep. We complained upon leaving about the bed only - although the cigarette smell persisted - and asked that we have a new room upon our return. Not the best way to start our honeymoon, but the staff was very receptive to our complaint.
- The lobby has a tendency to smell like sewer in the evening, however I think all the plumbing in Turkey is like this, and I doubt the owners can really do anything about it. You don't spend much time there at that time of night anyway...
- There was a miscommunication about wine being free, but it was not...most likely a translation issue or something we misheard given the late hour of our check-in.

The Positive
- We got a new room upon our return. Still two single beds but at least they were pushed together, and given that this seemed to be the case at most hotels in Turkey we were okay with it. No cigarette smell!
- The owner is very helpful and offered us an early breakfast for our 6 am departure, among other things. Our driver came really early we couldn't enjoy it but appreciated the offer very much
- There are a lot of nice touches (toothbrush, toothpaste, shoe cleaning kit, free water)
- The staff were great at helping us sort out reservations, cabs, giving directions
- We were given a lovely pack of Turkish coffee upon our departure! Love!

All in all a good place to stay, especially after getting our new room sorted out.

Room Tip: If it's not right - say something! We made sure to mention the squeaky bed and were switched upo...

We booked a double and a twin room at the Hotellino for the four of us, requesting manmade fibre bedding and quiet, non-smoking rooms. The hotel manager Eren was very helpful via email and is an excellent communicator for all my questions about the hotel, the area and the city before we travelled.

On arrival we were greeted by Suzan who is an absolute gem, more on Suzan later.
Our rooms were 401 and 403 on the 4th floor (lift available) and exactly as requested (none on the rooms at the Hotellino are smoking rooms). Room 401 is a lovely large double bedded room, modern with a bath and shower. The rooms also have robes and slippers, plus 1.5 litres of water free every day that is placed in your mini bar fridge so you have chilled water to take out on your daily adventures, great thoughtful touch.

Breakfast is excellent with a wide range of Turkish and european food, plus filter coffee and tea, water and fruit juices, honeycomb, fresh prepared fruit natural and flavoured yoghurt, cereal, hot items, breads, nuts, turkish delight (the real stuff), olives, meats, oh! and much, much more, yummy! The wating staff are efficient and helpful although with limited English.

The hotel also provides tea during the day, but we never got back as Istanbul just has so much to do.

There are lots of places to eat nearby (our first night we eat at IMBAT a rooftop restaurant in the Orient Express Hotel under 10 minutes walk away and highly recommended) and Suzan will also provide you with other ideas of local venues to dine at.

We asked Suzan quite a lot and she was so helpful, even providing us with a travel card to use on the tram, funicular and ferries. All we had to do was load some credit on, which you can do at Sirkeci Tram stop, as well as many others and this one card did all 4 of us at reduced prices. For example a single tram ride is 3TL for cash, but with the card it is 2TL and sometimes 1.95TL, depending on the time, great value and so convenient.

Suzan is an absolute star for all us tourists and seemed to be able to talk a number of languages, a great combination Suzan and the Hotellino made our first trip to Istanbul so very enjoyable, that we will be returning soon.

There is the noise of the "call to prayer" all over the city, but after 2 nights we slept right through this. Aslo the city is building a tunnel between the European and Asian sides that may generate noise at odd times.

Room Tip: Room 401 is great.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and specialy the owner that is around at breakfast time and is a very interesting, well-travelled and cultivate person. The rooms that end with number 1 are very spacious. Me and my wife got one of those when we arrived, and my brother and sister-in law one double, which is smaller but also nice. We stayed in the hotel when we arrived and came back again after a touring around Turkey, as we liked it very much and we got nice room-rates for the quality the hotel has. The rooms are well-maintained, very clean and with simple but elegant design. Mini-bar has 3 1/2Lt bootles of water free per day, which are very useful when you stroll around the city with over 30ºC. Breakfast is very diversified. The location is very good as you are between Sultanhamet and Galata bridge, which makes it very central and 2m walk close to the tramline to go further along in the city, or the train station.
Wi-fi is free and it works smoothly (we had 5 devices connected in our two rooms).
It's a place to come back

Room Tip: Rooms ending with number 1 are larger, although they are close to the works of Project Marmaris tran...

The hotel is clean, confortable and very beautiful. Perfect location, just 10 min walk from all things to be visited in Istanbul. Very good breakfast, wifi and 1,5l water free in the room, good turkish tea always available in the bar.
Hotel staff is fantastic, very kind and always available to give information and recommend what to visit and see. A special thanks to Berge and Cem for their precious advices and patience.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as the best choice to visit Istanbul.
