“2 star noisy hotel”
Reviewed 27 February 2013

The hotel is very near all tourist attractions but very noisy especially if your room gives on the street where there are restaurants and bars with music late at night. But the buffet breakfast served in a room on the last floor is quite nice (variety of cheese, fruits, cereals and dried fruits). The rooms are very small but clean. Yet, it is definitely not a three star hotel rather a two star one.

Room Tip: Don't forget your ear plugs !!!

We (a family of 4) stayed here in the summer of 2012, visiting the wonderful city of Istanbul.
The travel agent had booked this hotel for us (2 rooms) and as it turned out the reviews were right.
It's good value for money, but some rooms (only the matrimonials?) are very small. My wife and I had a room that was so small, I felt like I couldn't breathe. I didn't sleep very well that first night. The next morning we took this up with the front desk and they immediately relocated us to a much better room. Great service! So, if you're goiing to stay here, try to get a room that's higher up, you'll have a better view too.
Two great things about this hotel: the fabulous location and the very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Get a room higher up

2 star at most. Really a budget hotel. The room on the fourth floor we stayed at was about the same size as my home bathroom. Pretty small for a hotel room. Very old furniture, a tv that was at least 20yrs old (didn't even touch the on button), small 2 person bed. Lighting was terrible and there was a total of one wall outlet. The bathroom had some mold but was mostly clean, really inefficiently designed and therefore a bit clumsy.
No, luxury is not one of the words anybody would use to describe this hotel, but still it was not bad.
The room was pretty clean, towels replaced daily, bed clean and made daily. Wifi free of charge like it should be, accessible in the room, which was good i think. And the location quite central, i mean walking distance to the galata bridge, hagia sophia, blue mosque and spice bazaar. Don't expect a view, it is on a backstreet with other hotels in a tourist neighbourhood with pretty much no bars around, but central to the sights nonetheless. Very close to two tram stops from where you can get to the modern centre of taksim square by taking a 10min tram ride and 3min funicular. Or 25min walk if that is what you prefer. Istanbul is not just a city its an experience. We only used the hotel room to sleep at night and have quick showers so it suited our needs. We were out and about all day, every day. So a clean place to sleep was all we required..

I can recommend this hotel only if you arent to fussy and want a simple budget place to stay.

Room Tip: No tip here. The upside is that you'll have plenty of money to spare to explore this city. The h...

Hotel in a great location. Only minutes away from the old city. Also very close to main train station. The rooms aren't big however big enough for a short stay. Breakfast room with a great view and good food selection. Restaurants just minutes away.

We were travelling with friends, and with a few days left over after our guided tour, we found the Erbil hotel just down the street from our tour hotel, at a much better price. The reception staff were especially helpful. They did not have rooms available for one night of our stay, but arranged rooms at another hotel around the corner, at the same rate (in a fancier place), led us there, carried our overnight luggage, kept the luggage that we didn't need to bring, and welcomed us back the next morning. They also arranged our shuttle bus to Attaturk airport at 3 AM, which was a load off our minds. As advertised, they are located within easy walking distance of the Ghulane tram stop, and close to the main old city attractions. There are restaurants all around, convenience stores, carpet and ceramics dealers, and so on. Good internet service, in the rooms and in the lobby.

A well located hotel 5 minute walk from gulhane tram stop & close to many of the tourist attractions including many restaurants. It is a general run of the mill adequate city centre hotel that you will find in most cities. Ok lobby with decent seating with a seperate bar area again with comfortable seating & flat screen tv.The bedroom size was as expected for this standard of hotel being fairly small but have stayed in smaller rooms in other cities. It had a decent bed small multi channel tv air conditioner minibar & had a small en suite. Breakfast was on the top floor with a good view & was adequate.Staff were helpful.Nothing really stands out in this hotel but it does the job

This was our first time in Istanbul. The hotel is excellently located for many of the tourist attractions and near to a tramway stop. Room was clean and adequate with minibar, TV and telephone, and the bathroom worked OK. Breakfast was good and dishes were replenished on a regular basis. Staff were very helpful, both at breakfast and in reception. There were views of the harbour and Topkapi Palace from the breakfast room on the terrace.
