The greatest location – 5-10 minute walking for all main sights, Gulhane park and Bosporus. Train station is in 1 minute walking.
Nice comfortable rooms, normal size, clean and comfort beds. The only negative thing – the bathroom could be a little bit cleaner (or maybe bath was not very new) and breakfast more “interesting”. Always ask for rooms with street view, there are some kind of rooms with windows in the well, without any fresh air. Any time, it was excellent hotel for this money.

Room Tip: Always ask for rooms with street view, there are some kind of rooms with windows in the well, withou...

We stayed at the Erbil Hotel as part of a tour group (Gecko and Intrepid both use this hotel).

The hotel rooms aren't much, but they are clean and the aircon works. The hotel is centrally located and easy walking distance to the tram stop nearby and many other attractions and shopping areas.

The breakfast in the morning is located on the top floor (floor six) and features some great views of the neighbourhood and surrounds.

I would recommend staying in this hotel, it's not flash, but when you're out exploring, it's fine.

This is in a great location with the tram stop less than 5 minutes away. The rooms are incredibly small (even for istanbul standards) and dark. The wifi doesn't work in the room and so you need to sit in the lobby. There is an air conditioner in the room however there was no remote (when we asked for one a man came up with a whole bag of them- why they aren't left in the room I'm not quite sure!) the bathroom is also tiny (and I mean TINY) and the shower took ages to drain away the water so you often showered in about an inch of water! The breakfast however is quite nice. I enjoyed the mix of cereals, bread, dried fruit and borek.

We stayed there end of October, 2013 for four days. Room booked by our travel agency. The hotel is nicely located in the historic and touristy part of the Old City, nearby all things of interest to the tourist. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast OK but we have seen worse. Rooms clean and comfy-standard issue. Just what we wanted and very happy to recommend the place to any one. Got what we expected and were surprised by all things Istanbul-it is a mad place especially to people visiting from Australia.

Great location and great access to lots of attractions in Istanbul. However, our room was pathetically small, dowdy, no air and a view of what looked like an elevator shaft. We had to sleep with the door open to the hallway as the room was too stuffy. Complementary breakfast was good.

Travel agent booked a room at this hotel for us. We were travalling with the little kid and when we arrived the kids bed was already in the room. The room was large and light (509). The room was cleaned every day, towels changed as well. The furniture is in good condition, There was a new and comfortable mattress on the bed. View from the window is fine: other buildings and streets.
Breakfast is common but ok. Cheese, olives, vegetables, fruits, flakes, eggs, tea, coffee, milk - for me it was absolutely enough.
But there was some minuses, which are worth mentioning. Smell of WC in the room and facilities in the bathroom aren't new, but work fine.
Well, we really enjoyed staying at this hotel and the minuses it has didn't affect our holidays.

Room Tip: The higher floor the better view. Room 509 is very large and comfortable.

the hotel is very good situated , in the old part of the city, close to the gulhane tram station( 2,3 minutes by foot,) and 7, 8 minutes to agia sofia, 1 min to different restaurants.
my opinion is that it worths the money you pay because is very central. although it s a relative one because first we were given a small room, with the window facing a very small tunnel( like an elevator one), so without any natural light. after talking with the guy in the reception, he changed us the room. this one was a big one, one of the best he said( the biggest one in the pictures), on the 6 th floor. this was much better, had natural light, though it was in front of the breakfast room, so we woke every day quite early. but was big and comfortable.the cleaning was made every day, also some ordering in the room, towels changed, shampoo completed, etc
the staff very kind. i would choose it for the position and the money paid. the breakfast was a little poor, same thing every day( we had 4 days). it was hard for me, as i love meat and there weren t any. only one kind of ham which was terrible. so you can eat bread, butter, cheese, jam, honey, olives, boiled eggs, cereals with milk. also coffee and a very strong black tea.

Room Tip: avoid rooms beside the stairs. they don t have natural light.
