“Heart of city”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

The comparitivelly new hotel is located in the heart of city with cloth market around the place. centrally located and 10 minutes walk from the sea. with tram service right in front. The lobby is small manned by well trained staff. you have to take your luggage your self up. They have place to keep your luggage after check out.
The room are small with new wooden furniture. no tea or coffee in the room
Bath rooms are small but good linen is well kept and good.
The nosie of the busy road do touch your ears some time.
Breaks fast in the restuarant is well laid out and well cooked. crockery and cuttelry is heavy and easy to use.
The soup of teh day is generally good. Adequatly lighted place is nice. Wiaters are nice and pleasent.
Water generally not provided , need to buy form the market. The banks are just round the corner to change your dollars to local currency with out any charges.
Dont make call from the hotel charges are high.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors are better.

We stayed 6 nights in total in this hotel. 3 nights when we reached Istanbul then to Antalya and again 3 nights when returned back from Antalya. It is a comfortable hotel with good value for money. Situated in the heart of whole sale market therefore you dont need to venture far if you need to shop and very near to Grand bazar, Blue Mosque and other important sites. Can walk also to these places if u want. Daily tours are also available from the hotel reception . Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Negative was AC was not working fully but immediately provided us with a table fan when made a complaint.. In general a good experience and will come back to stay again.

We have spent 7 nights in this hotel. Location is very good if you wont to see important spots and monuments in old town. Hotel is fool of Russian girls that have came to Istanbul in order to bye some cheap goods. All night long you can hear packing and taping of this goods. Hotel staff is not very responsive and actually doesn't speak English well. Wi-Fi connection is good. The food is also good. Don't expect too much from this hotel. Rooms on the first floor are bigger but a bit darker, without view. Higher floors have less A/C unit noise.

We spent three nights in this hotel. Everything here is average & normal - nothing extraordinary. Don't expect too much. It is a good value for the money. Hotel staff sometimes is not very responsive - it relates especially to reception staff (my personal opinion). It is all about good location only & you can get everywhere in the old city from here very fast.

I don’t think I would recommend this place. We stayed there for one night only and although it was not disastrous in any way, I’m glad our stay was not any longer. The hotel is in the middle of city centre but it has no personality whatsoever. Our room was really basic and we just never felt “at ease” the whole time we stayed there.

we stayed at Martinenz hotel for 2 nights in mid July. our expectationsbwere not high begore arriving given the reviews and the fact that it is a 3 starts hotel.
our terrible experience started right at the moment we arrived at the hotel, where we found out that we had to carry our heavy luggage 20 steps to reach the entrance.
to be honest, the check-in was fery fast and smooth.
when we entered the room, our nightmare began. the room is vey small, but that is ok.
the air condition was almost not working and it was very hot, we called the reception multiple times and they insisted that it is ok. to make the longbstory short, the AC in the whole hotel is needs replacement.
the other issue was that the bathtub was leeking water and each time i had a shower the floor was flooded. i asked the hotel to fix it, but did not.
the beds were very uncomfortable, the springs in the mattress wre poking our bodies all night!!
adding to that, the breakfast in the restaurant was very bad in terms of taste and variety.
