I thought this would be a good little hotel, in fact it was a gem. The welcome could not have been warmer and the staff couldn't do enough (they spent time with us going over maps, explaining transport - even giving us tickets we could top up - and gave us tea and Turkish delight on arrival).
You are near all the main sights and a tram stop too (though it pays to travel a bit to find better restaurant options - those nearby are fairly touristy). The surrounding streets have lovely architecture and the street on which the hotel is located is very quiet (except for the call to prayer - if you are a poor sleeper this is not the hotel for you. You are very near the Blue Mosque).
It's really more a wonderfully run small family hotel than a 'boutique' hotel (it has no pretensions) but the furnishings are very good. Excellent bathroom, good bed linen etc.
Breakfasts are great, though it's better to opt to carry your food outside onto the terrace by the hotel's bistro than have them in the dining room when the weather is good.

Room Tip: We had a family room with a roof terrace - fabulous view of the Blue Mosque and a great place to hav...

Fantastic small hotel with fab breakfast, clean quiet rooms, really comfy bed, all you need at the end of a hectic day sightseeing. This is not 5 star but 4 star boutique hotel with very reasonable rates. The best desk manager who showed up maps, gave us the tram pass, where to go. He could not be more helpful.
Free airport pick up if you stayed more that 4 nights. And they gave us a packed brunch for our early morning departure, so good. Will definitely stay here again if ever have the luck to go back to Istanbul.

Great location and value. Breakfast Buffet was fantastic. Hotel Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip. They had great recommendations for attractions, food and transportation. Would not stay anywhere else in Istanbul.

Hotel Seraglio is a very pleasant small hotel that is ideally located within the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul, a fairly short walk to the key sights and Sultanahmet tram stop. This boutique hotel has no pretensions of offering the facilities that you would get in a 5 star hotel, but we got a clean room and a big shower (with constant water pressure and hot water), reasonable breakfasts, very good WiFi coverage, excellent value and, above all, wonderful hospitality and service. Before we even arrived at the hotel, email communication for our booking was prompt and easy (many thanks to Mrs. Secil). Celal and Kenan were also perfect hosts at the front desk, Yusof who helped us with our bags was always charmingly polite and Ardal (spelling?) in the breakfast room would greet us cheerfully every morning. We would certainly stay here again on our next visit to Istanbul.

What a gem in the best location in Istanbul. A lovely family owned hotel located close to all attractions including blue mosque, grand bazaar, river, trams and if you want to eat somewhere other than the hotel's own lovely restaurant there are plenty to choose from just outside the door. It is a very quiet hotel but there is so much surrounding atmosphere. The hospitality is beyond 5 star, nicer staff we have never found, rooms are nicely appointed and quiet with lovely bathrooms and comfy bed. Breakfast buffet is very nice and a lovely surprise was happy hour in the restaurant between 5 & 7pm which includes complimentary tea/coffee/juice and fruit/cakes. We had several dinners in the restaurant which were all delicious and the chef happily catered for my gluten free needs. We were able to leave some of our luggage at the hotel whilst we did a 7 day tour of Turkey and did so with complete confidence. Many thanks to all for the wonderful service and making us feel so welcome, we will definitely return to Hotel Seraglio.

This hotel is a real find in a large capital city. Warm helpful staff, generous modern rooms with comfortable beds ( though I would query one single quilt across a king sized bed) and good sized bathrooms. The hotel's breakfast was above the normal standard ( the cooks making omelettes were really friendly) and the convenience of having a restaurant/bar in the bottom of the hotel was just great after a long day of sight seeing. Best of all though is the location - so close to many of Istanbul's great buildings and sights. Loved it for our final two nights of a three week holiday.

All the positive reviews about the Seraglio were not exaggerated. Nothing to fault. Our room was impeccably clean and housekeeping service was excellent. The food at the bistro was phenomenal. A restaurant close by was highly recommended to us, but we found that the Bistro at the Seraglio had tastier and less expensive food. The location is optimal and is truly within walking distance of all important sites. All that aside, what really makes the hotel memorable is the staff: some of the most pleasant, welcoming, helpful and gracious people I have met in the industry. Everybody greets u with a smile and a greeting. Kenan in the reception in particular, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Upon arrival, he sat with us with a map, highlighting important sites. All his recommendations, between restaurants to tours, were on point. Overall, an excellent experience that I would strongly recommend to anyone.
