“Beautiful views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

We follow a very good advice from tripadvisor comment and took the Tyrol boat, same price as Sehir Hatlari, but a boat leaves every hour.
In 1,5h you can see all views of Istanbul attractions and also the beautiful shore and great houses on both sides of the strait.

“Must do!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

Did a 2 hour (10 lira I think) cruise up and back on the Bosphorus. It was really pretty watching the coastline go by, seeing even more ancient buildings, the mosques from a distance and the Istanbul skyline(s) - both sides. Definitely a nice place to be on a stinking hot day! I am glad that I didn't do the long 6 hour cruises however as I was a little pressed for time. Seeing it at this price was a great way to tick the box and not blow the balance :)

“Busy waterway”

I love ships so what a great place to see ships of all types and sizes ply the treacherous Strait. Next trip I will schedule a day cruise and see the whole Strait from Med to Black Sea.

“A jewel in Istanbul's crown.......”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

A trip on the Bosphorus is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions. You can take a public boat for 5 Turkish lira each way and the boat stops at 4 different islands located in the Bosphorus. The last island is called the "big" Island and there are several beaches you can spend the day at for a cost of between 15-25 lira. The island can also be explored by hiring bikes or in horse drawn carriages and was so unexpected to find this in istanbul. A wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting. The boat trip takes about 1.5 hours each way to the big island and approx 45 minutes to the first island.
