“Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Old City”
Reviewed 26 May 2011

My mother and I stayed at this hotel centrally located walking distance from many of Istanbul's greatest landmarks such s the Blue Mosque, Topikapi Palace, Haga Sofia and shopping and restaurants and much more. The Hotel it is small but perfect, it is beautifully furnished and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast comes with the rooms and has a wide selection. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. For the money that we paid to stay the value was much more. i would highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Istanbul.

From the minute you walk into this hotel you know you have chosen well. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff is exceptional. A very special thanks to Arthur...nothing was too much trouble for him. The room was wonderful and it was very nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, a room which was absolutely spotless, the breakfast lovely . Nothing negative at all to say. Was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. When I go back to Istanbul this will be the hotel I stay. It makes such a difference to a holiday to have such a wonderful place to come back to at the end of each day. THANK YOU Hotel Amira!!

It has all been said before so just want to add that Hotel Amira rightly deserves it's number one slot. What sets it apart from the competeition is the attitude of its staff. We usually stay at Four Seasons hotels but as we were only in Istanbul for one night we thought we'd try the Amira. Great little hotel where the staff are truly amazing. Went for dinner to the nearby Four Seasons & found the staff there condescending & over-fussy - they could lean a thing or two from Hotel Amira staff. Will definitely go back.

Centrally located in the old city district; clean rooms (our first room was very small--they were booked for their larger rooms) but for most of our stay we had a large room on the 4th flor with a small balcony with beautiful views. The daily breakfast is included and featured a wide variety of tasty breds, fruts, veggies, cheeses, and warm eggs dishes. At 5 pm there is a tea hour with more stuff to eat. From the moment we checked in, we were impressed by the professionalims of the staff who too a proactive approach to making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. We were given a brief orientation to the hotel and its neighborhood, the staff arranged dinner reservations and helped us with figuring out thow to navigate public ransportation in Istanbul. Staff seemed genuinely interested inj making our trip enjoyable, asked for feedback about the restaurants they had recommended, etc. Be sure to check out the roof terrace on the 5th floor with stunning , panoramic views. Guests ranged from business travelers to families traveling with smal children but it never was noisy or stuff. The only negative was that the room got warm at night but leaving the window open meant noise from the street. Still, for the money, this is a terrific value. We would efinitely go back there another time.

From the time you arrive to your leaving time the hotel and its staff take you into their care. From the welcome sit down drink and information session about what to see and how to do that to the food at the restaurant all is first class. The rooms are very comfortable and homely. There are many greta little touches. The front desk guys always have good suggestions and will do any arrangements for you. Locality is in the old town and in walking distances of where ever.

Room Tip: We had a Romance package and so had a greta room .

I was here on a trip with my parents. They had a room directly above me with a view of the Bosporus. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated. The staff was fantastic. We were greeted by Arthur, who come to find out lived in Santa Monica, CA for three years. He took the time to sit down with us and make sure we were seeing all the important historic sites. I had never had someone take such time and care to make sure our visit was valuable. In addition, I inundated them with email requests and they were always prompt and courteous. There was nothing they would not do to make your stay enjoyable.

Location was fantastic for what I wanted. You are literally a 5 minute walk straight up the street to the Blue Mosque. If you want to be in the heart of the old city, it's another 5 minutes. It is on a busy street, but the double pane windows kept it quiet.

Personal tip - Learn the tram service. Traffic is a nightmare so even taking a cab won't help.

Room Tip: Email the hotel directly - they respond quick

All I can say is that this hotel is simply EXCELLENT. We've been to all different chains of five star hotels and we can say that Amira does not ask favors to anyone. I would give them 5 stars on the spot!
Absolutely clean rooms every day, spacious rooms, EXCELLENT service, friendly and efficient staff and excellent location.
Highlights were that (1) the check in is accompanied by a comprehensive explanation of the area and its surroundings, recommendations as to what to do, when and where (like a travel agency, only at no cost), restaurants and shows recommendations (they recommended Kurosami..a MUST).
(2) complimentary tee from 5-7PM
(3) that they found out it was our daughter's first birthday while we were in Istanbul and organized cake and a little party for her...I don't see that happening in the Marriots, Intercontinatals and movenpicks of the world. THANK YOU AMIRA for a wonderful experience!!!
I should also add that when we arrived, it was after a long journey and so they made our room available immediately so our baby could rest, and sent us breakfast to the room (even though it was past breakfast time) so that we can rest and start the check in "Istanbul introduction" only once we had rested and had a bite.
Oh, I almost forget to say that the location is EXCELLENT. You are walking distance from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc etc etc
Did I mention that we got free wi-fi? we had to pa for it at all other hotels we went....
And the list can go on an on....
