Just back from 5 days in Istanbul with my family. Hotel Amira is perfectly placed to explore the main sights-5 mins walk from Hagia and Blue Mosque; 10 mins to Cisterns and Palace and 15 mins to Grand Bazaar. Some very nice shops and small bazaar within 5 mins walk.

Service great and charming as other reviewers have stated. Wifi connections better than at home!

Really recommend the Cisterns/Basilica and Bosphoros Cruise-the state ferry does a 2 hour cruise for 10 Tlira per person which is great value.

If we come back to Istanbul then we would happily stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon (with our 2 kids in tow). The hotel exceeded all of our expectations! The staff were amazing, friendly and warm, nothing was too much effort. The place was both child friendly and elegant, and the rooms were DIVINE! The staff upgraded us the suite, which has a beautiful view of the Bosphorus and a lovely balcony. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms gorgeous, the spa bath was a hit with the kids and the food offered by the hotel was excellent.
The location was also brilliant, a few minutes walk to the blue mosque and the hagia sofia, as well as an easy walk to the grand bazaar. However, I would have to say it was the amazing, attentive and friendly staff who made this trip so memorable. They helped with maps, food (we are vegetarians), and even colored and played with our 4 year old! AJ at the front desk was very friendly and Siim was very kind and helpful. We would stay here again in a second. Thank you hotel Amira!!!!

September this year we booked 4 nights after coming in off a tour of Turkey. What a delight, at check-in the staff took us to the roof top lounge, provided us with a drink and then proceeded to highlight on a map all the features of Istanbul and how to get there. The room was a pleasure to come back to after trekking all over Istanbul. At 5pm it was up to the roof top lounge for a drink and watch the evening close in around the seaway. When it was time to leave the staff took our details and contacted the Airlines, checked our booking and arranged seat allocation. Internet good, rooms clean, great breakfast buffet and all staff were very friendly and accommodating. It's central to all major attractions and some nice restaurants.

Stayed here Oct 4th, 5th, 6th, 2013. Decided on the "Cultural Package" because it included shuttle service from the airport as well as to our ship the Regent Seven Seas Mariner on the 7th
as well as one 1/2 day tour.
Wonderful, very clean, 30 room hotel located within walking distance of all the places tourist want to see in the old part of Istanbul. Arthur, (AJ), and the rest of the staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful with any question we might have. Made reservations for us at two nice restaurants close by. Included breakfast buffet has many things to choose from. Really neat roof top lounge area. Would stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone going to Istanbul.

This July we visit Turkey, with the occasion of a friend getting married. The hotel perfect, next to the sea in a good part of the city. Breakfast is served until 11.00. Worth the money, cake, eggs, nice bread, pita, fruit, joghurts and good coffee. Room very clean and smelling fresh. Cleaning ladies very friendly. The city is very organized and touristic a hidden gem. Make cruise at instanbul to see places around. People here have good life, spend time to have coffee and tea and discuss and socialize. Also, the food in the hotel is surprise. Eat at the restaurant. The terrace is a place with nice weather and view to the sea. Wine selection and chess selection in international standards. I think the hotel has to sell some of its products. Cosmetics was at a great standard, my wife agrees with that. We would buy if there is availability. I think that the reviews until now say truth for the hotel. It is position 2 and it deserve it. There are early booking discounts as well, if we book again we opt for better price.
