Upgraded to a huge, clean, nicely appointed room with spacious, modern bathroom- we could not have been more content for the two days we stayed before our cruise. Personal attention by the most accommodating staff: Sim welcomed us with a glass of wine and a thorough "orientation" to the hotel and the city; Emre can not do enough for you - forget something? no problem- he will have it or find it for you; an attentive doorman who helps you no matter how many times you come and go. A wonderful small hotel- no big, noisy lobby, a great location, and an excellent breakfast and afternoon tea

One of the nicest places I have ever stayed! The staff were amazing and helpful, you could ask anything and they were more than happy to help. The buffet breakfast and afternoon tea were incredible! Everything about this hotel is absolutely outstanding! Worth every dollar spent!

I recently stayed two nights at the Hotel Amira Istanbul and found it to be simply wonderful .The building is excellent with large well-appointed rooms, an outstanding breakfast and afternoon tea room, and a beautiful roof top terrace with its amazing views and top-notch bar service .The front desk staff that I met could not have been more friendly and helpful. They couldn't do enough for me . On arrival from Rome at Midnight AJ insisted on organising a beautiful and very much appreciated old fashioned lemonade to take to my room .The two young men who were doormen/porters were also very friendly and efficient with quick smiles, kind and welcoming natures. The location of the hotel is excellent and in a great location in Sultanahmet only a 10 minute walk up to the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. There is also a taxi rank right outside .
Without hesitation I strongly recommend the Hotel Amira to any traveller looking for a wonderful place to stay in Istanbul.

The staff cannot do enough for you. On arrival escorted to the lovely dining area given Turkish delight and Turkish tea. Emir was fabulous producing a local map of where to go and what to do. Location is fantastic with an easy walk to restaurants the blue mosque and Hagia Sofyia. Loved the area and the roof top terrace for a few drinks with a view of the Bosphorus after a hot summers day touring. The Aresta Bazaar was lovely uncrowded and offered all the Turkish towels and pashminas that I needed to purchase. The Grand and Spice bazaars are a must see, however, they are both incredibly crowded, do your shopping at the Aresta or the shops surrounding these large bazarrs. Loved Istanbul and will definitely go back to Hotel Amira. I do think the spa tub facility area should be free and not be charged 25€ per hour. In the heat of summer it would be nice to dive into a pool. If you wish for a pool then select another hotel. The breakfast was terrific. The room 301 was small but comfortable as I was travelling alone on my way to meet friends in Europe. Had issues with the bathroom door and shower door colliding when you tied to get in. Ask for another room, room 301 is for singles only.

We (from Singapore and Hong Kong) stayed with Hotel Amira for all three nights in Istanbul and could not have asked for a better experience.

LOCATION - the hotel is situated in central Sultanahmet and is a short walking distance to most of the famous sites as listed out in earlier reviews. The hotel staff gave a comprehensive introduction to the city which was helpful in planning day-to-day activities.

ACCOMMODATION - the interior design is not extravagant but pleasant enough. Our room is a twin for two persons; it is not large but comfortable enough. One comment would be the air-conditioner broke-down on our second night here (which was unfortunately given it is now summer); we were upset but surprised at how well it was handled: a fan was provided immediately upon request, and the management waived a night's cost without us asking.

Everyone from the reception to the bar and the cleaning ladies were smiley and happy to assist at all times. Many thanks to AJ, Farti, Sim and Agur (hopefully these have been spelt correctly) for a lovely time in Istanbul indeed!

Stayed here for 2 nights in a family suite - pretty large room with two big double beds. Very friendly welcome and introduction to Istanbul/the hotel. Breakfast plentiful, fresh and not overcrowded - excellent service. Same for afternoon tea, very welcome after trekking around in the summer heat! Great situation, only 5 mins from the Blue Mosque, close to drag with plenty of restaurants and bars, but not in the middle of it all (just a stone's throw from Kennedy Cad, for easy access to Ataturk airport). Very clean, well maintained, attractive. Even a small gym at no cost. Recommended.

We started our honeymoon in Istanbul at Hotel Amira, and we are so, so, SO glad we did. Hotel Amira is gorgeous (I really think the pictures on its website don't even do it justice!), and the staff are incredible. Upon arrival, Emre - who quickly became our go-to for any questions we had or advice we needed, which he always delivered with a smile - sat down with us for almost half an hour to give us an overview of the city, telling us all about the area in which the hotel is located (which is incredibly safe and close to everything you'll want to see if you're only in Istanbul for 3 days like we were!). He gave us tons of fantastic recommendations on what to do and see and eat while we were there. Such an amazing introduction to an absolutely stunning city, and the hotel is positioned so that the entire city is at your doorstep (and is surprisingly walkable). He also immediately booked us a reservation at a restaurant that evening that had hands down the best views of the city that we saw while we were there - the perfect way to welcome us to Istanbul! Emre also got us set up with a cruise of the Bosphorus, which was a great way to really see how sprawling and massive (and beautiful) the city is (and our guide was fantastic). Everyone else was incredibly nice and attentive as well (a major advantage of a boutique hotel), and we loved sitting out on the roof for a coffee one afternoon and for a bottle of wine one evening - incredible views and so comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and the afternoon treats were fantastic. Our room was beautiful and so, so comfortable, complete with rose petals on the bed when we arrived. I honestly cannot think of a single bad thing to say! If you go (which you absolutely should!!!), you must ask for Emre!
