“Not so hot!”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

While this hotel is "in" the old town, it is also in the heart of the ragtrade with men running everywhere with huge trolleys full of bales of cloth, and noise that continued throughout the night. We changed rooms to the back of the hotel which was quieter. The hotel could not even provide us with a local map but suggested buying one at the bookstall. We were however quite close to the tram station and once we had found out where to buy tokens (near each tram stop) to get onto the tram stop, it was a very easy and convenient way to get around. All the sights can be reached via the tram and then by foot, not as advertised 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, reasonably clean, with comfortable beds but the breakfast was not that good.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back much quieter!

No bathroom service for soap, body and head shampoo/lotion, cooling system off-times from 10am to 17/30pm (we had to call reception almost every single days), located in a overwhelmed and congested area of the city with poor air convention, busy lift, poor lit rooms at night with faulty or missing bulbs. about 8 rooms at each floor with limited spaces and sound permissible walls.
House keeping and breakfast were perfect.

The hotel was fantastic in its place where the Aksaray station is a few hundred meters away and a lot of restaurants can be found nearby the hotel.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable; the staff especially the reception were great in giving information whenever I need it about the city and travelling.
The breakfast was delicious, with several recieps of food.
I highly recommend BU-DO hotel for a nice stay in Istanbul.

We had 3 nights at the budo the rooms are basic but spotless the service was fantastic they just could not do enough for us. The location is great it is less than 200 metres ffrom the tram line and close to all attractions, the breakfast was good when we were there akways scrambled eggs always cereal and cold meats and as much as you wanted so if you are looking for good value great location then try the budo

The service and the staff are really nice... The hotel is in a great position if you want to visit Istanbul. Rooms are not too big, but cleaned. the price is very good for what the hotel offers. The only thing that I did't like is that the big breakfast buffet didn't have any hot food. Sausages and eggs were served cold. Mystery. For the rest...I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask them if will they have any hot food for breakfast...

Great front desk service. Taxi drivers and tour operators had tough time finding the place since it is in a narrow alley. Close to tram line which is a convenient way to get to major tourist attractions

The main advantage of the hotel is that it is in a good location for getting round Istanbul, walking distance of the Blue Mosque etc as well as the tram service to other districts. Our room was adequate: small but clean. There was plenty of food at breakfast though not that inspiring and sometimes sitting space was a bit cramped. WIFI throughout and a room safe. Air conditioning was ok but some street noise at night. We were out most of the time and had no problems with the area. Like the first reviewer I'd say it was fine for a couple of nights but nothing special. Adequate rather than enjoyable. I almost rated it 2 but felt that was maybe a bit harsh as there were no problems with it. We didnt choose it. We were transferred to it unexpectedly.
