Everything we read in TA is true and more!
My wife and I are in the hospitality industry and it was great to see a hotel strive to be at the top of their profession. We were very pleased and surprised at their commitment to great service from the initial welcome to a final departure wave.
We arrived early AM from our cruise (taxi fare from the dock 15 euro). As we expected, the room was not ready until 1pm. We were invited by the front desk attendant, to have a complementary breakfast while we waited.
The guest service manager, Hilmi Cali's, then gave us good advice about what and when to see things. He suggested buying the 72 hour museum card for 72 Lyra. It was not only a good value but it allowed us to skip all the hot, long lines at the palaces and museums.
We felt that because we went through TA, we got extra service. We got a nice room. When we returned from touring, we were always greeted with a smile, handshake and a drink of coffee, tea or water. The whole hotel was clean and well appointed.

Breakfast buffet was filled with many Turkish and European selections. A chef prepared eggs in any fashion that we wished. There were lots of food options at the buffet. A nice gentleman manager, "Moose", was always getting those specials food items that we needed, such as Soy milk.
We ate at their Olive Restaurant, where we were welcomed by Ayse, a friendly hostess. She made sure we were welcomed, seated and properly served. She had a beautiful smile that made us feel at home. Her English was good and she helped us understand some of the Turkish customs.

The night before we were to fly home, Delta cancelled our flight and we had to stay another day at our own expense (Delta's option was to spend the night at JFK airport.) Our lovely hotel was already full, so Hilmi called another Yasmak hotel next door and arranged a very nice room for a reduced rate for the extra night. Plus they took the luggage from our old room down the street to the new one. A big plus! While the 2nd hotel was very good at customer service, it was not over the top level that the Sultania had exhibited.

Our North American hotels could learn a lot from this hotel's guest services. We paid a little more but got a lot of value. Thank you!

Room Tip: Get a fifth floor room with a balcony and view

Fantastic location for sightseeing, public transport & a range of well-priced restaurants
All staff spoke excellent English & were incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
Rooms were generously sized with probably the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever slept in.
Fabulous breakfast - waffle or omelette of your choice cooked freshly to order in the dining room, a huge array of cereals, fresh fruit, cold meats & cheeses, pastries, croissants, cakes, halva & fresh squeezed orange juice plus a range of cooked options. Even with a 5 day stay, there were too many choices to be able to sample all that was on offer.
Lots of little personal touches made us feel like valued guests - fresh fruits, Turkish delight and cakes were always available in the comfortable foyer; staff were generous with sightseeing advice whenever requested, always with a smile, greeted us on our return & asked if they could assist in any way; they happily arranged taxis & accompanied us to the taxi when we had luggage.
The price was a little higher than we usually choose, but with complimentary breakfast & ability to walk or jump on a tram to reach most sights, it was more economical than other cheaper options.

One of the best places I have stayed in Europe. Warm and friendly staff, without over-doing it. We were there for 5 nights, and the service was consistently high quality. Breakfast each day was a sensation - excellent variety with a great range of fresh and cooked food to suit most tastes. Great location - 10-15 minute easy stroll to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc. Quick walk to the tram, to go further afield, if you wish. Plenty of great restaurants close by - no rip-offs! Would go back again, without hesitation.

We were part of a large group that stayed at several Yasmak hotels. We chose the Sultania for the rooms, and were not disappointed. The room was generous in size, exceedingly well appointed (with a comfortable bed for my lower back issues!). The service at the hotel was exemplary: we wish especially to thank Hilmi for his care of us (and for teaching me how to pronounce "thank you" properly in Turkish. The people could not have been friendlier or more helpful. If we're ever so lucky to get back to Istanbul, we will make a point to stay at the Sultania!

My family and I stayed at the Sultania as part of a large gathering. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and very imaginatively furnished and decorated. The staff were unfailingly helpful and polite, and the service in the restaurant and bar excellent.
