We stayed here for 6 nights and it was wonderful. It's a full service hotel with the warmth and friendliness of a small B&B.

The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient. In most luxury hotels, you often get porters hanging around after they bring your bags hoping for a tip. Not here. The staff sort of magically vanish once their job is done, leaving you with the impression that your luggage has appeared in your room by magic. What also impressed us was the manner in which they treated our friends and family who visited us (they were staying at another hotel). They were treated with the same warmth as if they were staying at Sultania which we deeply appreciated.

Staying in the heart of the old city, we were prepared for a tiny room. However, we were amazed when we checked in to this massive suite. So massive that we had a tea party one afternoon and invited the 6 other members of our group over to the room! 8 large adults comfortably fit in and one gentleman was so comfortable he actually fell asleep in the chair.
The bed was of excellent quality. Truly the type of bed where you can hold a trampoline jumping party on one side while your partner sleep soundly uninterrupted on the other side. We woke up each morning feeling very refreshed.

It was amazing to have a Jacuzzi in our en-suite bathroom. We didn’t know we would get one until we checked in. As we stayed for an entire week the two large wardrobes were a godsend.
The breakfast spread is a real feast. There are so many delicious things to choose from that it’s almost and attraction in itself. Also, the hotel has guest relations officers who go round the tables chatting to guests during breakfast to provide tips and help on your plan for the day. We found this extremely helpful for exploring the city as we were able to move around the city like the locals do thanks to all the advice.

Lastly, the location of this hotel is superb. It’s literally on the doorstep of all the major attractions in Istanbul such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi palace. The Gulhane tram stop is a 2 min stroll down the street and there are countless restaurants in the area.
True gem of a hotel and highly recommended for a stress free holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies are massive. Book online and chose to pay in cash for a discount.

My wife and I stayed here for a 4 night stay (long weekend). It was a surprise Birthday trip which was a very nice surprise.

The hotel is in a very good position to see the main sights of the Old Town on foot. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the Blue Mosque and the Cistern.

The rooms are very good and original. It is nice to see something which is different in a hotel room rather than the similar layout in most places. The breakfast was very good with a decent selection. As was the hotel dining room 'Olive restaurant' which to be fair was hotel prices but had to be done for the occasion.

The staff at check in and the guest relations were very helpful and would assist with planning the trips with either information or by the actual booking if need be. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them and they were happy to listen to what you wanted and offer up suggestions.

Return transfer was arranged by the hotel and was also very good.

Overall, we found all the staff, bar none, to be friendly, helpful and courteous and because of this and the hotel location we would stay again.

We stayed at Sultania Hotel last October (3 nights). Nice room (de luxe double room with terrace) with citybreak package. From pick-up at the airport to drop-off at the port, everything worked smoothly. All staff very professional and friendly, and location is just perfect, close to major Istanbul atractions. The dinner at Olive restaurant was good with a nice view of St. Sophia and Topkapi Palace.

Tip: try to book your room in advance. Rates will be lower and you could choose the room you want. Last minute rates are considerably higher.

This is by far one of the most luxurious hotels in Istanbul. Professional and hospital, gives you an authentic and artistic experience of pre-modern Istanbul. Yet compared to other hotels in the area, it is overpriced. The staff is very well-trained, patient, and friendly.

We spent 3 nights here - the staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming! We had a room with a balcony and a comfortable bed (if a little firm for my taste). Breakfast was excellent - particularly the yogurt and the honey comb! Good espresso, yummy bread! Brilliantly placed - near the tram and many sites. Good restaurants if you walk out of the hotel and turn left and go down almost to the end - basic but great quality.

Me and my girl spent a long weekend in Istanbul, a short leave from the frosty bites of Sweden at winters best.

I first booked the hotel via hotels(dot)com. When I later checked out the hotel via there websites I found out that not only did they have better rates, they also provided free airport pickup! (This might be a limited offer and not a regular service they provide, but for us, a hustle free welcome)

The welcome to the hotel itself felt more lika a a family thing then hotel check-in, we sat down with the receptionists, Ramanoz and Femihn, they served some tea and a very welcome Efes and talked about all Istanbul has to offer. Guess we sat there chatting for half an hour or so.

The room actually looked like in the hotels official pictures, how often do you get that?! Even remember that I updated my facebook status with " got the room they used in commercial :)) The room was clean, nice, quiet with no buzz from the streets below, and full of surprises. The way they have created the glass bathroom was really beautiful with printed relics of an old harem.
Our cleaning maid, was just marvelous to. A big smile whenever you saw her, and the room looked like new after every time she had been there.

As we went to Istanbul in December we were expecting some days of less sunny weather. So in advanced I had organized a Turkish bath with massage at the hotels in-house facilities. The bath was a new experience for me and I do recommend you to try this ancient treatment.

The Hotel also has a rooftop restaurant "Olive", overlooking the Hagia Sofia and The blue Moské. Even though the rooftop only extends to the 6th? floor, the view is stunning. The restaurant was close to empty when we ate, and I kindly asked the personnel to dim down the lights a bit. Like floating in the dark night with old Istanbul under your feet!

And the food was great to!

Other things to mention:
-Great Breakfast, omelets on order, and nice assortment of all you could possible need. This was included in the room price, not very common in Istanbul hotels.

-Free snacks in the lobby area, dried fruit and small cakes 24/7.

-Location. Well, Istanbul is BIG. A weekend wont let you do more than scrap the surface. But we had simple goals. Hagia Sophia/Blue Moské. about 5-10 minutes walk. Grand Bazar would, if you do not get lost like we did, be a 10-15 minutes away. The Bosphorus strait and all the guide boats are a 10 minutes stroll. And If you are going over to the bridge to shopping and Istiklal Street you have to spend some 45 minutes by foot.

I travel around quite a lot, often city weekends or short trips to the Med whenever schedule allows. My general review of Hotel Sultania, is that you pay for 3*** stars and get 5*****. Many times you get the flashy pictures of hotels you book, and most often they do not correspond to reality. Sultania did.

The costumer care is exceptional, not only do I get a personal mail from guest relations a week or so before arrival, letting me know that they stand ready and ask if there is anything they can do for us during our stay, pre-book tickets etc.

The same lady then sends me a mail the week after getting home, asking if the trip back home went well and just checking in on us. That is a costumer concern I have never seen before.

So, thanks Gokce and all your staff! If we return to Istanbul I would guarantee that we come back to Hotel Sultania! :)

Emil and Nadja
