We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in May. The staff and service provided was excellent - they all went out of their way to help and were so friendly.

The location is fantastic, with all the main attractions within walking distance. If walking isn't your thing, there is a tram stop very close by.

Only things that let us down with the hotel was the bathroom. The smell coming from the drains was really quite horrible, although we are lead to believe this is consistent across Istanbul due to the age of the plumbing. We did ask about the smell and were told they could change our room if we wanted (although the smell was from a lot of the drains, so changing rooms wouldn't necessarily make a difference). The bath in our room was a bit disappointing - we were informed that it was the only room with a jacuzzi style bath, but sadly the bath itself was discoloured and had a number of cracks in it.

Overall, the hotel was lovely, although perhaps not on scale with other boutique hotels we have stayed at all over the world.

Room Tip: We chose a room with a balcony, which meant that you were up high on the top floor of the hotel, but the room itself was a bit lacking in vibe.

Stayed here for 2 nights in May and loved the experience. The staff are very polite and always available to help. The hotel kindly arranged an airport pick-up free of charge however I didn't realise and ended up taking a taxi which cost TL50/60.

On arrival, my wife and I were upgraded to the suites with a balcony view! The hotel facilities are good given the location - the swimming pool (small ~10 metres) and jacuzzi are free of charge to guest however the use of the sauna and hamam cost €10pp. The breakfast is ok with a wide range of food on offer.

The wifi connections was excellent and accessible free of charge throughout the hotel.

The best thing about the hotel has to be its location. Smack bang in the middle of the "old town" and walking distance to all the major tourist attractions. Tip - follow the tram line and you'll never get lost!

10 min walk to Sofia
10 min walk to Basilica cistern
15 min walk to Blue mosque
20/25 min walk to Grand bazar
30 min walk to "new town"

What a beautiful hotel with lots of Turkish character. I went there with my husband for our 16th wedding anniversary, staff was very friendly and helpful, we did have a couple of little issues but it was resolved very quickly and efficiently. Breakfast choice is amazing with homemade butter, honeycomb, chefs making omelettes and scrambled eggs. Hotel is located in a hart of Istanbul with lots of very good restaurants just step away. I loved my stay there and thank you to all of the staff was looking after us.

Good location being close to the superb tram system. Only a short walk from most of the traditional attractions, but also to the Galatta Bridge and the ferries (ps use the public ferries - really cheap and more room than the boat trips).
The staff were brilliant. You always felt that they wanted to be friendly/ helpful, without being intrusive. There is also no doubt that the front of house managers are really smart and experienced people - they put their top people into these positions. I particularly mention Himli who was always interested in giving a personal insight into a country that he is so proud of. I should add that it was obvious that all the staff were affected by the miner tragedy, although they were far too professional to let it get in the way.
The restaurant was very good and we ate in the main rooftop Olive Restaurant one and downstairs in the bar twice (we were unusually there for 10 days and so got to know the area really well). For me however the highlight meal of the day was breakfast. If you are just looking for the standard bacon and eggs then the hotel is probably not for you. If however you want to be able to take your time over: a good collection of cereals, cold meats, local veg delicacies, honey on the comb etc then it is great.
The spa and gym were good.
We were there for 10 days so did some more interesting things. Himli got us tickets to a local basketball match which was a unique experience. I would recommend the ferry to the Anatolian side Kalakoy. Also using the ferry to the Princes Island (only 5 TL.
We also thought that Istanbul Modern was a fantastic use of a couple of hours.
If you have kids take them to the Panorama at topkapi tram station. It's a fantastic representation if the siege of Constantinople.
Any way hope you enjoy it as much as we did

This hotel offers a very warm welcome, the rooms are well equipped (like all hotels, it could do with more drawer or shelf space), the breakfast buffet provides an excellent start to the day, and the Olive restaurant with the rooftop panorama offers more excellent service and a good menu.
The icing on the cake is the location - easy walking distance to all the amazing sights of old Istanbul, and a tram stop just around the corner for visits further afield, plus a huge array of restaurants right outside on the street.
For the service, and the location, we couldn't have made a better choice.

Room Tip: A triple room will give you that bit more space to spread out.
