“Everything perfect!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2010

Location right in the middle of the historic part of the town (if you are looking for a proper night out and shopping it might be slightly more convenient to stay in Beyoglu or Taksim, although I think the 5 EUR taxi ride over to the Sultania are worth it), very friendly staff offering great service (early check in at 7:00am for free, coffee voucher, free DVDs, fixed a loose TV cable within 5 min), nice Spa with a little pool and gym, roof top restaurant with an awesome view, amazing breakfast and the rooms are new, very stylish, clean and offer all amenities you need (flat screen tv with sourrond sound, free tea/coffee, safe, Ipod docking station, pillow menu, minibar and so on).

Before I decide to make my booking via the hotel website I have seen too many reviews here saying that this hotel is really over rated , sometimes when you see something which seem to be TOO MUCH , you have some concerns , when I went there , I just discovered that all the positive reviews I have read were true and this hotel deserves to be over rated as in simple phrase ( Everything there is just perfect ) !.

Without trying to contradict a review: excellent room, excellent location, excellent staff.

However, in November where the weather is not yet cold the hotel shares central heating with three other adjoining hotels. The room thermometer was saying 30 degrees Celsius and you wake three or four times a night in a liquid sweat. Utterly uncomfortable.

Any other time of the year you would think you found the small hotel of your life.

great breakfast, brilliant staff, small but lovely rooms... but the heat. Why? Annoying that the staff known but are happy to let you baste. When you complain, they send up the porter who speaks limited English. Hey as a business man, I'd do the same...but it's a repeating problem obviously that should be solved.

Hotel Sultania is an extremely comfortable hotel in a great location, but what is most impressive is the attention to the small details in the room, such as the decorative toiletries and the bathroom panels with Sultana scenes at the hamam. The Ottoman cushions in rich colors, the Turkish sweets awaiting us on our arrival, the curtain fabrics and tassles and ties...everything added to the allure of the place. The traditional hamam bathrobe was a favorite item, and we were determined to find a comparable one in the market. We didn't locate any that were as comfortable as the one in the hotel. We should have bought the one at Sultania, which was actually offered at a lower price that we found in any shop in the Bazaar.
The lobby in Hotel Sultania is bright and modern, and there is a continuous supply of dried apricots and figs available at the reception. Even the lobby restroom is an attractive space with beautiful tiles and individual cloth guest towels. Breakfast, which can be enjoyed in either the lobby restaurant or in the rooftop Olive Restaurant, was excellent and provided generous choices. The view from the Olive Restaurant was a plus. The reception staff and the guest relations staff was excellent, offering us advice, suggestions and directions whenever we needed it...which was frequently. Our three night stay was too short, and when we were obliged to change to a hotel nearer the airport for a business meeting, we sincerely regretted leaving the Sultania. We were spoiled by the comfort and the decor...there will be no other choice for us on our future visits to Istanbul. We dined in the Olive Restaurant one evening and the meal was delicious. The service was somewhat slow because there was a large party on that particular night. But when we went for breakfast the next morning, a young woman from the staff met us to ask about the dinner and the service...someone had reported to her that we were less than satisfied with the service, and I feel there was an immediate attempt to correct the problem. She seemed intent on making sure our complaints were taken seriously.
We took a little time to use the sauna one evening. The spa facilities are small, but attractive and clean.

It was very immpressive and me and my family got really leisure over there. We came from Baku and as we are actually themselves hospitality people of course this moment was very important for us. And our expectations got true. Staff were very friendly, positive, good-manner, easy-going. Any request had been tried to have done. Especially a lot of thanks to manager dealing to guests Mrs. Ozlem. If i have a chance again come to Istanbul I will stay there again. I will advise this hotel all of my friends, relatives and other persons who are going to this charming sity.
