Probably one of the best hotels you can stay in istanbul.
The location is perfect.Next to the blue mosque and 5 min walk from ayia sofia and the tram station.
I believe it s the best location. It s in the middle of everything but it s also quiet.
The room was great.Spacious and very clean. The bathroom was as well spacious and very clean.
The breakfast was excellent like everything. Many options to get you started for a busy day sightseeing!
Last but not least the staff were AMAZING and really helpfull with everything.
There s always someone at the reception that can help you with anything you might want.
Any info you might also want don t hesitate to ask.
Would surely go back there for my next visit in istanbul.

This gem of a boutique hotel is located directly behind the blue mosque. Ideal for walking to all the sites in the old city.
Management is warm and friendly, offering excellent advice on what and when to see.

Always had coffee, tea and incredible cookies available.
Rooms in adjacent buildings were warm and sumptuous. Breakfast was the only weak spot, but a small price to pay for a reasonably priced, boutique hotel in a prime location!

Definitely recommended. Excellent value!

Room Tip: Annex rooms are nicer.

My 5-night stay at the Djem couldn't have been more delightful. The small (11-room) hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet, right behind the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome, has been renovated to include all the modern comforts and is beautifully decorated with Turkish textiles and kilims. I requested, and received, room #10 in the annex (only a few doors down from the main hotel), which has a up-close view of the Blue Mosque. (The call to prayer from the Blue Mosque could be heard loud and clear from this room, so sleeping with earplugs is a good idea.) My room was sparkling clean, and so beautiful and comfortable, that I loved spending spare time relaxing in it. The bathroom was spacious and spotless, and everything functioned really well. Housekeeping standards were consistently high.

The buffet breakfast, served in a nicely decorated area in the main lobby, was by far the best I had during my travels in Turkey. Excellent brewed coffee, lots of fresh juices, perfectly ripe fruits (melons, figs, plums, clementines, pomegranates), vegetables, breads, pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs cooked to order, and marvelous Turkish yogurt (esp. delicious mixed with pine honey and pomegranate seeds).

As nice as the amenities are, what I appreciated most about the Djem was the genuine hospitality of Farouk, the owner, and his staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them; every question, every request, was handled not only with efficiency but also with grace and kindness. If I have a chance to visit Istanbul again, I would love to return to the Djem.

Room Tip: Rooms 1-6 are in the main hotel; rooms 7-11 are in the annex. The straight staircase in the annex is...

My sister and I recently stayed at Hotel Djem and were very happy we stayed there. The location is great, owner and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you and assist with where to go. It is quiet and peaceful, breakfasts are great especially the different breads and pastries. Much nicer than a big impersonal hotel.

I just spent six nights at the Djem with several clients for my Turkish culinary/cultural tour. The hotel is an excellent choice for its location, the level of comfort and lovely decor for a very fair price and, perhaps most of all, its staff. Farouk, the owner-manager is hands-on in the best sense. The staff is welcoming and very helpful for questions and details large and small.

I was concerned that the location right behind the Blue Mosque might be extremely noisy during the call to prayer. It was not a problem at all. The breakfast buffet was very good with a terrific selection of fresh fruit (melon and figs in the early fall!) and excellent filter coffee. The hotel and the rooms are decorated with beautiful kilims and textiles. This is a family that has a long history in the textile business and the DJEM shops in the Arasta Bazaar and in Sultanahmet have beautiful kilim bags of superb quality and lots of other beautiful temptations,

I highly recommend this hotel. And they also have three short stay apartments a few minutes away that are an excellent option for families.

Room Tip: The upper floors in the annex have magnificent views of the Blue Mosque. Tell the staff what is impo...

Good location, beautiful big appartement, we were able to walk to all the major local attractions.

Room Tip: Appartement 2 was very good
