“Hypnos Design Hotel”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

I feel compelled to write my first ever review following a wonderful stay at the Hypnos hotel.

Everything from the arranged pickup at the airport to leaving for home 11 days later was top notch. This was my second stay at the Hypnos (and it will not be the last). The first was a one night stopover that confirmed this as a fantastic place to stay.

Central to all the sights and 1 minute from the tram line. The hotel has a small but stylish cafe on the ground floor with both inside and outside seating. Great for breakfast ( my wife like the Turkish omelet so much she had it for 10 straight days!), a quick lunch, coffee, dinner or just chilling with a glass of. Wine. Our room was the top floor suite with balcony with fantastic views of Hagia Sophia. We enjoyed many evenings sharing a bottle of wine there.

The shower is to say the least a feature, having a glass wall onto the bedroom! Everything was top notch throughout. And it was a shame to have to pack up and leave.

All the staff spoke excellent English which made things so much easier.

just 5 doors down the street is an excellent Pub come sports bar where it was great to join in with the locals watching top English, Italian, Turkish and European football.a

Last tip for those planning to visit Istanbul. Consider the Istanbul Eats walking tour, especially the two markets two continents tour. As well as gaining a real understanding of the Turkish food scene it was an invaluable introduction to the Asian side which we re visited later on several other occasions.

We are very much looking forward to revisiting Hypnos in a few years time

Room Tip: The Anatolia suite is the most expensive room but has more space and fantastic views of Hagia Sophia...

This is the perfect place to be if you are looking for a little bit of peace and quietness in a loud place like Istanbul where somethings is always going on. Everything from the design and privacy to the amazing food served in the restaurang was really exceptional and impeccable. The service was on top and i was very happy with the treatment i got. Although its a little hotel and is pretty new, it is unbelievable the amount of work that was layed on the details of the hotel, totally worth the name Hypnos Design Hotel.

The hotel is in a strategic position near Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque.
Rooms are perfectly clean and different by design. Breakfast is good and the staff is very

Its a bit of a mixed bag this hotel, you cant fault the position, its in the middle of everything in the old city. On a whole the stay for five nights was great. We had a top floor suite with great views of hagia sofia. It has little design surprises here and there. The staff are very helpful when you ask ....but attention to detail is lacking in some areas. Breakfast was like a bit of a surprise in the morning in that each morning we had no idea what shape or timeframe it would be delivered. We ordered omelettes for most days and the time taken to make them would be from 15 mins to 45 mins they at times seem massively understaffed. Our toilet seat in the room was off center our whole stay and while our room was very funky the cleanliness was a bit patchy at times. With little things this could be a great hotel ....unfortunately a few things let it down.

We were agreeably surprised about warm welcome and very kind, helpful staff. In spite of unexpected bad weather in April we felt there very good, like at home. Staff was extremely friendly - help us in any matter what we need. Always advise us good place to visit (restaurants, hamam etc.).
Rooms are small, but very nice decorated. Each of them has different style. Location is perfect - everything is approx. in 10-20 min. walking distance.
We liked our breakfast - everything is specially prepared by our choise, not prepared in advance.
Thank you for unforgettable 3 days in Istanbul!!!

We have been there for honeymoon. We enjoyed our stay there and we can recommend the hotel to all who want to have a excellent managed hotel which is nearby of most of the attractions in Istanbul. The metro station is just a 1 min walk away from the hotel. The hotel has to be "experienced" with its fantastic concept and design.
