Good access to the center.Friendly staff but irresponsible.
Room was enough spacious though quite shabby and filthy.Too many parts were broken.Several holes are on wall and ceiling,Black mold was in a bathroom.Dirty toilet even with label of done disinfecting.Honestly I was so surprised at such a bad quality.Unfortunately I could not sleep as quite noisy from other rooms for not soundproofing rooms.Good connection of WiFi.

We stayed in the basement family room. The room itself was poor and dirty, the duvet was also untidy. The bathroom was renovated , looked modern but not clean.
It is located near the center, the price is not bad and it contains the breakfast which is also satisfying. The staff speak english and they are very helpful and friendly. They can provide you a private door to door transfer to the airport for good price and with good quality.

Room Tip: If you can bring your towels, bed sheet and at least hypo or some cleaning stuff to clean around the...

Vacation with friend for Christmas from 21 to 26 December 2013.
Preferred Hotel Old City - small hotel, perfect location, very close to the main attractions of Istanbul (Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque).
Very responsive, friendly and professional persoonal.
The only possible drawback - required small renovation in the rooms.
But in any case your stay depends on your mood, we had a great time in Istanbul.

This hotel is just perfect. Normally when i go to istanbul I was staying at the taksim or besiktas area. This time , because of the demo in turkey I preferred to stay at sirkeci area which is close to old city sultanahmet, sirkeci harbour to go to Asia side. I was not expecting something high class but I was wrong. With these low prices I found high class service, educated and helpfull staff with beautiful smile, delicious food ( thanks to mr.cook enver ) , clean and professional house keeping and extra ordinary hotel manager Mr.isa. I recommend this hotel for an unstressed business trip or gorgeous sightseeing trip in Istanbul.

Room Tip: our room was looking the garden of the park so fantastıce....:)

This hotel is in a brilliant location for exploriing Istanbul. It is within walking distance of the attractions in the Old City such as the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar and Egyptian Spice Market. It is located next to a lovely park where you can see the locals picnicking. The hotel is in between Sirkeci and Gulhane tram stops and you can use the tram ways to get to Taksim and other areas of interest. The tram costs 3 Turkish Lira per journey.

The room was average and a bit rough around the edges. It had air conditioning which we didn't realise wasn't working properly until we moved to a different hotel. The mini bar fridge was also broken and emitting quite alot of heat which added to the temperature in the room. It wasn't so bad that it bprevented us from sleeping but we would have said something if we had realised! There is free wifi available throughout the hotel.

The staff were really helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome, even offering us a cold drink upon our arrival. The breaksfast buffet was really good. Traditional Turkish breakfast items as well as cereal and lots of choice! The breakfast was one of the best things about this hotel!
