“Great Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2012

We stayed here for three nights in June. We had a slight problem with our room on arrival and within minutes service staff arrived to rectify the problem. All staff friendly and helpful to us first timers in Instanbul, Great location within walking distance of most of
the major attractions/shops/restaurants. A lovely hotel would stay here again.

Where do we start as there are so many great attributes for this hotel.
The location is great - its in the heart of the old town, enough to feel part of the action, but quiet and smart enough to have a good nights sleep and feel safe. As others have said, the hotel is a short walking distance (5/10mins) away from the Grand Bazaar and the other historical sights (Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia). There is a tram stop 2 mins away which makes exploring the rest of the city so easy too.
The rooms are well furnished, clean, and as what you'd expect from a Hilton. We had read the advice of other patrons of the hotel, and on reservation, requested a quiet room on the top floors which we got. We didnt have any trouble with noise, and even the air con unit was modern and made little noise in the 33 degree heat.
My partner wanted me to specifically do a shout out to the staff who were excellent. The service was impeccable. Staff were very pleasant, and extremely helpful when we requested their advice, recommending walks, restaurants, and taxi assistance. The welcome cookie was warm, oaty, chocolately, and such a nice touch: so much so, that we ended up getting one the second night too after a long nighttime walk back from the Old Town.

On our third day, after much sightseeing we took advantage of the Spa facilities. We had a luxurious pampering hamman with massage. The facilities were calming and very modern which was a nice change from the more 'authentic' hamman experiences we've had before. The masseur and hamman staff looked after us, and it was a fabulous hour of relaxation, after which we enjoyed the jacuzzi, sauna and spa facilities on offer.

We loved Istanbul, and when, not if we come back, we will certainly stay at Doubletree Old Town. Thanks!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on upper floors. Get the breakfast rate, as there is everything you could want...

Very nice hotel in the Old Town of Istanbul. Ideally located at walking distance of the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. On top of that a tram station just in front of the hotel to visit the other parts of town.

We (couple without children) booked a room with a terrace. Very clean and all necessary ameneties present. As a small downside: the room was a bit too small for all furniture in the room, the closet could hardly be opened without falling on the bed. A free business center is available, although I would have appreciated a free wi-fi throughout the hotel.

The staff was without exception very friendly and helpful to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

If you are looking to stay in Instanbul's Old Town, DoubleTree is a great choice.

We stayed here for a week-end. The service is nice, the rooms are also nice, though not that big. Breakfast was excellent, and service adequate.
There's a tram stop, right in front of the hotel. The name of the tram stop is "Laleli Üniversite".
From the airport, Take the metro to Zeytinburnu, where you can change for Tram n°1.
The fare is 2 Lira for the metro, and 2 Lira for the tram. It will take about 45 minutes for the trip.
For Sultanhamet, it's 3 stops, ten minutes!
If you want a quiet room, ask for a room with view over the courtyard (i.e. the lobby), as room over the street can be a little bit noisy, for noise-sensitive people.

Tastefully equipped rooms with nice level of amenities. Kept clean and efficient. Friendly staff and accommodating front desk.
The hotel is near the Grand Bazaar and has a T1 tram stop outside to all the main attractions nearby.

We stayed at the Double Tree for a long weekend in late June. Having just checked out of the truly dreadful Grand Cevahir it was great to be treated so warmly by the DT reception staff. The staff are a real credit to this hotel and have a great knowledge on the local area - they can arrange excursions, retaurants and anyhting else you may wish.

The rooms are modern and trendy and well laid out - our's had a small balcony as well. Good business centre and 1 hour free internet.

Breakfast good and you can get a decent coffee anytime. The other reviews say it all on location but I was suprised the hotel was so modern and well appointed.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside facing room with balcony (some of the rooms face inwards).

I visited a lot of hotels in Istanbul old town. This Hotel is the best I ever found in this area. Very helpful and friendly staff, The rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast buffet is very good. Hotel is located between Beyazit and Laleli but no terrible russians were in the hotel.
