“Not quite as good as it looks”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

This hotel is very conveniently situated, just round the corner from the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia. However we were initially disappointed as it looked nothing like its website, with the appearance of a 2 star or 3 at best. The room was OK but the bathroom (shower only) was tiny. Breakfast was Ok but would have been nice to have more fresh fruit than a couple of tired apples and oranges. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed here with friends for four nights. Didn't have twin rooms we needed, so we were offered option of two other different types of rooms. Chose the apartment and made the right decision - the view from the room and roof terrace were AMAZING!!! We spent our evenings up there, watching the sunset. One of our holiday highlights!

The staff were, without exception, brilliant. They gave you the feeling that nothing was too much trouble for them - they phoned places for us, booked cabs, etc.

Also, the rooms were really well cleaned - I even had my pyjamas ironed! Lovely!

It is also in an ideal location - walking distance to many of the major sights. However, despite its central location, it was also really quiet at night.

Really fantastic place to stay - would recommend this hotel +++

Room Tip: Apartment 4 - view of blue mosque is amazing, plus access to roof terrace.

My wife and me, we stayed 5 nights from April, 5, 2014. This hotel is a small one, but it is very nice. Our staying here was very pleasant, the staff was friendly, offering a lot of information about the town and the hotel location is the best - near the historical sites in Istanbul. For sure I will come back at this hotel for my next holiday in Istanbul, to meet again with Mr. Ramazan and other very friendly people from here ...

Room Tip: It will be better to choose a romm at higher level (2+)

Sultan House was a surprisingly pleasant part of our traveling in Turkey. They upgraded our basic reservation to a suite with views of the Blue Mosque, were incredibly hospitable in providing tea and information on the town, and allowed is to keep our luggage there the full day after we checked out while we explored Istanbul. And their breakfast was the best this side of the Bosphorus. Highly recommended.

We stayed 5 nights from 6 April. We arrived quite late but this was no issue for our host, Jihan. We did not stay in the actual hotel but in an annexe 1 minute away. As we were a family of four including two under-6s the rooms were ideal. Two single beds in one room and a double in the other. Plenty of storage, comfortable beds, clean, with TV and fridge. However, the view from our room was to die for .... The Blue Mosque filled the windows. Amazing! We were just 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome.

If you are fortunate to stay in the annexe you can get superb views of the city and the Bosphorous from the rooftop terrace!

As a location it was ideal. Loads of restaurants nearby and a couple of mini-markets, too.

The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. On our last day they even arranged breakfast to be brought forward an hour to fit in with our early departure which was very kind of them.

Would I go back again? .... Absolutely as I could not ask for a more pleasant stay!

We (myself, wife & 02 teenage daughters) stayed in Sultan House 04 + 02 days (5-Apr to 09-Apr & 13-Apr to 15-Apr). We booked 01 Double & 01 Twin Room. We booked our rooms via Email in January and their owner Mr.Zeynal replied us immediately and booked rooms for us and also offered us complimentary Airport pickup from Ataturk Airport. On our arrival at airport, driver with our name was standing at airport. He shifted us to to Sultan Hotel immediately. Upon our arrival at Sultan Hotel, we were greeted by their manager "RAMAZAN POLAT". He is one of the finest & courteous man ever met. He was very kind, helpful, understanding man. He made our rooms ready and we checked inn immediately. One of the main thing about this hotel is just 40-50 steps away from main tourist area "SULTAN AHMET" (Blue Mosque, Ayasofia, Hippadrome, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace & Tram Lane). The Hotel is not a very big property, its just a 24-25 rooms family run property but very well maintained, neat, clean and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was also included in our room rent. Breakfast was also very nice, traditional. Hotel Manager "RAMAZAN POLAT" also booked tour package of Cappadocia, Ephesus & Pamukkale for us thru "PARAN TOURS". On our last day they also booked full day "BHOSPHORUS CRUISE TRIP" for us. Inshort all in all, we would highly recommand this hotel to all Family Tourist and also would like to recommad "MR RAMAZAN POLAT" to deal with. I also would like to name their two other staff's Osman & Jasim, they both were also very helpful.

My wife and I spent four days in Istanbul in March. The location is just perfect. 2-5 minutes to the most popular locations. Hotel is great. Friendly staff and Ramazan who makes you feel at home. Thank you all for that ! The room was decent, but we did not spent time in it. Tasty breakfast , coffee , and tea(cai). When we come next time to Istanbul we shall stay in the Sultan House.
