Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

This review is part of a 40 Days ,8 countries tour across Scandinevia , Netherlands & Turkey.
My reviews are based on multiple local experiences as well comparisons with other places across my tour.Except for Turkey, reviews are based on comparisons with similar class tourist destinations.
-------------------
I stayed in this hotel between the 25th and 30th of june.
Two blocks away from gulhane T1 metro line basically 10 min away from main attracktions in thag spot. Hotel staff are polite and helpful as they should be. Their ability to communicate in english is fair (way better than the majority)
Hotel rooms are sunny are medium sized for a double. Windows are pretty thick to block noise .
Noise level will bw a concern for light sleepers...there two nice places.to eat downstairs ..which welcome passing by bands around 11pm. Metro also produce noise.
Cleaning lady does the minimum. The room.is cleaned up properly but not perfectly.
Breakfast is generous with alot of choices....makes me laugh at the quality of food same.class hotels used to serve in europe.
I recommend this place

Excellent location and decent breakfast. Elevators are tiny and toilets even tinier. Be prepared to hear the tram honks. Good service by reception staff. Safe area to stay with English widely spoken in this area.

Reviewed 10 April 2014

I stayed in this hotel for two nights early this April, I booked throw booking.com because of the good price and reviews.
I'm familiar with Istanbul so I know that the location is very central, but also know that in this area (Serkecie and Sultanahmet) there is about 300 hotels, so the competition is very hard, from the reviews I had read I was expecting better, the hotel is basic, the entrance is just a small reception office and no more room for any thing else, it has an elevator, the hotel is generally clean.
The room was in a good size, suitable for one person, and does contain a small fridge, the bathroom was large enough but finishing is poor like most of hotels in Istanbul and I don't know why!
I also noticed many lambs were not working in room and bathroom, the TV remote control was missing batteries, so it looks a bit careless.
The dining room was one of hotel rooms in last floor, so it was small and a bit wired, breakfast was basic, and I would say many hotels in Istanbul at the same level offering more varieties and options on breakfast, beside that if you came late you will mostly find no food as there is nobody to fill up!
The hotel staff were nice and helpful, but I did not have enough contact with them as I was almost out of hotel.
I think the hotel is over estimated in reviews and other hotels in same area are better.

Stayed at this hotel between 14th march 2014 to 16 th march 2014 ,booking done thru online from India. Was apprehensive as taxi driver dropped me 100 mts away due to traffic restrictions. But the hotel surprised me as the room had all basic amenities, viz, private bathroom, lcd tv,safe, fridge,ac,heater.lift, etc.Breakfast served on 5th floor, bread, eggs, salad,,cold cuts, cornflakes, milk, tea, juice, coffee, eggs preparation and fruits.basic and healthy served from 8 am.Location is superb could walk to all attractions,Aya sophia,Blue mosque,Basilica cistern,Hippodrum,Grand bazar,Spice bazar,Galata bridge, and tower,Hodja pasha cultural centre for darveish show,Topkapi palace.no of shops around, eating places every where.Reccomendations from the hotel for the darvish show was excellent must watch.Overall i would highly recommend this hotel for basic budget travel to Istanbul.

Room Tip: I had a third floor room on the inside road side and it was good quite.

Basicly, this is a good budget hotel in a superb location within walking distance of many sites of Sultanahmed, old Istanbul. The main advantage of this hotel is undoubtly its perfect location: lots of restaurants and cafes in the nearby streets, Topkapi is a sheer 5 minutes´ walk and the Galata bridge and the ferry terminal to get to the Asian side are 10 minutes walking distance.

Staff is probably the best bet in this hotel. Receptionists are mostly young and kind guys who speaks good English and invites you to coffee or tea and chat with you. When travelling alone you reallly appreciate this kind of things. Check in was smooth and easy and the single room was OK. Small but it caters everything you may need, except a satellite TV ... One problem is maybe, specially for light sleepers like me, that the window of my room did not close properly so you get some noise in the night, specially the tram since it pasts nearby .... Bring earplugs in any case ...

Bathroom quite clean also.

Mediterranean and Turkish breakfast was also OK. You would not get a superb wide range of things, but the things you find were tasty and freshly cooked.

Well, in general it was a pleasant stay but probably will find somewhere new in the future to stay in this great city again.
