I wanted to write a review about the CVK hotel in taksim ( facing burger king) as soon as possible.
This place is way under rated on booking.com and tripadvisor.
beeing in hotels all around the world i would have to say that this hotel is very nice, amazing location ( if your looking to walk around the streets of istanbul), very clean and got staff who speaks english( which is extreemly rare to find in turkey)
i highly recommend this hotel for all the travelers.

Price: Very good
location: very good
staff: very good
sleeping quality: good
( if you ask for a king size bed, your only getting a two mattress fitted with one king size bed sheet)
breakfast: very good
amenities: terrible ( they really should switch to a higher quality products)

the entrance of the hotel i must say, its not their best assets but once you go to the first floor you will find that this hotel is very nice and you'll enjoy it as much as i did.

Room Tip: higher floors are usually better in all Istanbul's hotels.

The hotel categorization as 4 stars is an exaggeration but it has some positive aspects: it is right at the beginning of Istkal Cadesi, on Taksim square, the rooms have a decent size, it is well insulated from external noises (a very important point considering the location), and the air conditioning is efficient and silent. The staff seems a bit inexperienced but they try hard. The hotel restaurant is a bit of a mystery because in three attempts in the evening I never saw anyone actually dining there. It also has a wine rack which is bathed by the afternoon sun, not exactly what you would expect in a cellar. I found the rate I paid (160 Euros) expensive considering what the hotel has to offer. However, at a cheaper rate I wouldn't mind staying there again although this doesn't mean I wouldn't be tempted to try something else as well.

My family and I stayed here from the 6th to the 11th of June. The hotel itself is amazing, very clean, excellent staff and a amazing view of Taksim.
You are in the middle of everything, the minute you step out of the hotel you have hundreds of shops, cafes and restaurants at you door step.
I would definitely stay here again.

I agree with most of the previous reviewers; the location is fantastic, beds are comfortable and large, staff are very helpful, and food is good if not outstanding. However, the condition of the woodwork (doors, etc.) and some room and bath fixtures are showing a bit of age. In addition, some Americans and others are turned off by the entrance--a small, dingy-looking entry "closet" from the main square, squeezed out by a bank (previously a restaurant, I believe). Taksim Square is noisy all night, with almost continuous sirens--especially on weekends. It was hard to sleep! The lobby is up one floor and is large and pleasant. I had a standard single room; from photos I have seen (I didn't look at the rooms), the up-scale and double rooms are nicer and may rate 4 stars, except for the comments above. I would not hesitate to stay here again myself; I am not sure my wife would be content, however.

Room Tip: Request a deluxe room with a view--preferably floor #8 overlooking the Bosporus. Those rooms may be quieter, also.

what to say ? Just a very nice, clean and perfectly located hotel to discover Istanbul.
Hospitality, friendlyness and service is perfect and prices affordable.
The only annoying thing is the dozens of switches to operate every single light or even the curtains in the room that involve a lot of clicking until you find the correct action !
