This little hotel is situated in the heart of Istanbul right in the middle of Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Basilic Cistern. Due to its central position this hotel can be easily reached from the airport by both metero and tram. Needless saying that all other main attractions are a stone's throw away.
It is a clean and homey accomodation decorated with Turkish items from the hotel boutique next door. The rooms offers soundproof windows, a.c., wifi, and clean bathrooms.

The staff of four at Kervan are all very friendly, helpfull, and are english speeking. The owner is also fluent in several other languages. These people offers first class assistance to all their customers. It was defenetly an excelent deal, and will stay there for our next visit.

I have stayed here four times and each time was great. I liked the airport pickup and the manager made all the arrangements for the shuttle back to the airport. I found the maid service to be great. This place is close to all the sights and loads of restaurants. Definitely recommended.

This was our third visit in this hotel, reasons being unbeatable location in the heart of Sultanahmet and super helpful staff. Owner and staff speaks good English. The hotel rooms are impeccably clean. The owner, Turgut always made us feel at home even sharing his iftar meals with us during Ramadan. Prices compere well within the other hotels in the area.

A friend that stayed here in 2010 enthusiastically referred the Kervan to me when she found out we were going to Istanbul. Immediately after we booked, the owner called to offer airport pickup services to us. The location cannot be beat. The tram is right around the corner and you can see both the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya up close from the street facing rooms and especially the upstairs terrace. The entire staff (day and night) was super friendly and very efficient. We were there during Ramadan and the owner sat with us during breakfast and explained Turkish customs and answered many questions for us. He even remembered my friend that referred us to him and gave me a gift to give her! They even printed out our boarding passes for us prior to our departure. I would definitely refer the Kervan to anyone thinking about staying in Istanbul.

The location was perfect .... cute rooms. Great selection of restaurants close by and close to the major sights and tram.
The service was awful! The room wasn't cleaned for 5 days. No soap !! in the room! Garbage and bottles collected for 5 days ... We had to beg for clean towels... !! It's the night clerk that registers guests, and so wakes you at 9:30 pm when he comes in, for relevant information. Breakfast was just okay.
I can't agree more with the second review.... !!!! The owner is a real pest about selling things from his shop. The hotel has great potential ..as a "boutique hotel" with the right touches ! . Too bad it's not managed properly !

So if you are looking for a quaint place without lavish ammenities but a great location and great prices this is it. Steps away from the underground cistern and across the street from the Blue Mosque and Saint Sophia's church this place is a gem. The place has clean rooms with a decent view and the terrace is great for breakfast. Due to the fact my stay was brief and I was on a budget this place is great. I didnt have to worry about transportation as most everything is within walking distance. Free airport pickup and drop off helped too. The staff was accommodating however they could use some english lessons. The owner was a pip. Typical Turkish business man with a way of getting you to buy things. All I purchased from his shop was a couple of coasters for $5. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay.

Great location, with terrible service. The owner is a nice man, but will get in your face and guilt trip you every time you return to the hotel with a purchase, on why you did not buy from his shop. We had to hide our purchased from him. There is an amazing Grand Bazzar in Istanbul, of course tourists will spend some money there! At the end I tried to make peace by buying something from his gift shop, he completely overcharged me, as I discovered at the airport gift shop, comparing the price of the same item. Then when we retuned home to Barcelona we realized he overcharged our hotel bill by 24 euros. Our beds were never made. He overworks his employee, who does all the work, while he gives the guests a hard time.
