Because we had an early flight, we wanted something close to the airport.. This little place was fine -- kind of funky. We arrived late (cab driver couldn't find it for almost an hour) and left before dawn. The desk person was unable to communicate with us, but we were able to arrange for an early morning cab. The room was clean, but the barest of minimums. It was quiet (perhaps no one else was there?)

Arrived at hotel during construction. Lots of banging and difficult to get rest during the day. Room was in garden wing. No garden to be found. A closed in group of about 7 or 8 tiny rooms. Bed and pillows left a lot to be desired. Proprietor was a very likeable individual, speaking excellent English and very willing to help. Location is good. 5 minute walk to great restaurants and shops. i would have spent more time here except for the room size and bed. Breakfast was passable but very limited selection.

Stayed here when flight delayed in LHR so missed connection and had to stay overnight in Istanbul. This lovely little hotel is very quaint, 10 minute drive from Ataturk airport, close to Yesilkoy Marina with a wide selection of fish restaurants to try.

Room Tip: There is no lift so try to avoid rooms on top floor.

Not your "usual suspect" hotel! It's a family-run pansyon, a converted 19th-century French hunting lodge with the quirky charm and challenges that go with it. Sure, the plumbing is a bit dodgy and some of the furnishing a trifle thread-bare. But your room may have a palace-high ceiling and a view of the sea traffic heading for the Bosphorus. The owner is slowly refurbishing and bringing it close to the standards of modern international hotels. True travelers will appreciate the colorful character - and competitive pricing versus, say, the brazen tariffs of major chains and city-center lodgings.

Located ten easy minutes from Ataturk Airport, the venue is ideal for layovers. For tourists, Istanbul's robust public transit offers a bunch of inexpensive options to get to other city neighborhoods and attractions by train, bus, public van ("dolmus"), and even budget taxi (ask at the desk). And the local nighlife ROCKS - waterfront fish restaurants on the banks of the Marmara, plus a variety of bars and restaurants within a five-minute walk of the hotel (try Mienyu). You can play backgammon and other games (Yesilkoy Spor Kulubu), watch soccer matches on large-screen TVs, listen to live music (both contemporary and traditional) (Gulay Ablanin Yeri), carve up your "Maras Kesme" ice cream with a knife and fork (Mado), dance at a disco (The Stones), watch the sunset on a seaside terrace (Middle Kitchen)... you name it!

On more than 20 trips to Istanbul over the past ten years, we've stayed at this hotel every time and have grown fond of the friendly, helpful staff. If your travels take you to Istanbul and you want to experience local life with contemporary convenience, here's your place!

Note: If you depend on Internet access to stay connected to life back home, the Wifi access is speedy and largely reliable. The so-called "Garden Rooms" are no-frills alternatives for budget travelers, but the main building will suit those looking for hotel accommodations.

Staff was friendly and I didn't felt in an aseptic place as many other times. Room is small but quite comfortoble if the use is just for the night. The hotel is located 10 minutes from the airport in a narrow street easy to reach with the indications you find in the website.
No parking. If you rent a car than is a big problem.Room are small and if someone like to stay there for a long time it can't be really comfortable.

I wished this was not just a layover, because this hotel has character! As does the residential neighborhood with it’s tree lined streets. Only 3 miles from the airport and a 12 TL cab ride, this was a good choice for our last night in Turkey. We asked for a quiet room in the main part of the house (after reading suggestions) and had room 15 on the top (third) floor. The room was a bit on the small side, but had what we needed. The mattress of the king-sized bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was small with just a shower, had a hair dryer and a window. There was a new flat screen TV and ac which we did not use. Instead, we opened the big window that overlooked a quiet courtyard. There is free WiFi, a router is on every floor. There is no elevator, and the spiral staircase is narrow, so if you have big suitcases beware! Our wake up call was on time and our cab pre-ordered, was waiting for us at 430am.
The owner was very accommodating and speaks good English. The marina promenade is 2-3 short blocks away. My husband ran 5 miles but never reached either end of this unobstructed, wide, pedestrian promenade. The marina has a line of elegant seafood restaurants that caters to the well heeled locals. Close by, the town center is small but busy and has a variety of restaurants . We found an excellent one with good prices and local cuisine, just a 10 minute walk away; Ablanin Yeri , for which I wrote a review.

Room Tip: Room 15 on top floor has a king sized bed with good mattress and faces a quiet courtyard.

Good value, clean rooms. Quaint old building in nice affluent area. Convenient for airport. We stayed in the annexe which was a bit noisy because of the tiled corridor but wouldn't put us off staying again.
