This is a lovely hotel near Taksim Square. The room we stayed in wasn't very big, but it was very nice and had everything we needed. We had stayed on the other side of Istanbul earlier in our holiday and wanted to stay on this side of the city when we returned. It was an excellent way to see this side of Istanbul.

We went to Istanbul for vacations, me my hubby and our 5 month old and stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of a friend who stayed here earlier. We were told by a lot of tour companies that i was consulting, not to stay here since it is far from the center of the city- but i'm really glad that i did not listen to them and went with our friends recommendation. This place is 2 minutes walk from istiklal street and hardly 10 minutes walk from the main taksim square (if u take istiklal); Built in a very appealing and contemporary fashion, spacious compared to the small room sizes usually available in other Istanbul hotels and extremely neat and clean. The street on which it is located is quite congested but that's how entire Istanbul is. The sleep quality was excellent, no noise what so ever, the staff downstairs was extremely friendly and co-operative helping us with booking tours, taxis and recommending good places to eat; they also put up a cute little crib for my baby to sleep in (which was such a relief and she liked it a lot); They dont offer meals not even breakfast but that is good coz we explored a few good breakfast spots on Istiklal street. I loved the bathroom, so neat and tidy and the lobby downstairs is so comfy with a coffee machine etc to help yourself with. Another great feature of the hotel is that it has an ELEVATOR, which most hotels in istanbul don't have (unless it is a five star luxury hotel); we didnt have to lug our suitcases all the way up!!! Also from sultanahmet (where most attractions are) a taxi took 20 liras to go from the hotel and on the way back usually 30-40 liras coz of rush hours in the evening (it's better to tell the taxi to drop u at istiklal or taksim square coz hotel is at walking distance)- Also on Istiklal you can find a tram which can take you anywhere not to forget that istiklal is a shopping street as well so its super convenient. Overall, this hotel is 10 on 10 on my list in terms of everything location, room size, cleanliness, ample umbrellas :) and most friendly staff.

Room Tip: Our room had windows opening on the rear of the building, hence they were very quiet since at the back was all residential and no commercial!

Stories apart was really a great discovery for me. It is simple, clean, well decorated. Location is excellent and near from the famous taksim square. Although meals are not served in this hotel, it is surrounded by many turkish and western restaurants. All staff are really very friendly and co-operative. I booked the room initially for 2 nights then I extended for 2 more nights. The prices are very reasonable.
I strongly recommend it and will definitely visit it again if coming back to Istanbul.

We just stayed for four nights and highly recommend Stories Apartments Karokol. Rooms are very well appointed room - great bed, great shower and amenities. Along with the quality of the room we found staff very engaging and helpful staff. Our stay included enjoying a few bars and clubs all in easy walking distance of the hotel. A great place to stay!
