Seems to attract mixed reports but our view was very positive so guess read a few reviews and make your own mind up.
So, as many reviews make clear, this place is in the middle of the Grand Bazaar so you will have to use your wits to find it but well worth the hunt. It's a bustling place or at least was when we visited late lunchtime. We were on a city tour and Oscar, our guide, suggested a visit. Well worth it. It's in an old building amongst the stalls but has loads of seats inside.
The chaps seemed to do the same for everyone which was to run through the food available that day in the display cabinet and then to seat you, prepare the food and ship you out. Not that we felt at all rushed but this place must have been doing this for years and something has gone "well right". Food choice was big and we could see how good it all looked which was a bonus. The choice also seemed to have a good mix for the non-meat eater, something not every Istanbul eatery seemed to do.
We had chicken and a moussaka but I reckon anything would be great there. What we had was stunning and inevitably we over-ordered. Dessert was a joy too and everything had a dollop of delicious buffalo cream. Just what we needed after a big meal!! Pointing works well if your Turkish is the same standard as ours for dessert too. The guys seemed to speak most languages so probably not needed really. Well worth the search and an oasis in the middle of the madness that if the Grand Bazaar. Go try would be my suggestion.
