The welcome is charming, the ideal place to cross the old town. The decoration of brings to room temperature and of the hotel is pleasant and design. We can take the tea throughout the day in a very well equipped cooking(kitchen)

My parents and I stayed at Portus in early August for a week. Having chosen it off Tripadvisor reviews, I can say that it fully deserves it's strong ratings. A quirky, boutiqe hotel, it is in a great and central part of Istanbul, close to Galata Bridge, Taksim and all the other fun parts of Istanbul you want to explore by foot. Cigdem, Fırat and Isamil were very helpful and kind, with good suggestions of where (and where not) to go. The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily, and if you book two rooms, you can have your own 'wing' of a floor. We had a great time during our stay in Istanbul, and a large part of that was because of our stay at Portus.

Beyond the pristine accommodations, the unbeatable location, and the low price, the staff at Portus could not have been any nicer. They treated us like family and were instrumental in coordinating a uniquely Turkish experience. Three examples: 1. Ismail recommended and booked an all-inclusive Turkish meal on the water. Besides unlimited drinks and great food, there was a 5-piece band, a belly dancer, and two wedding parties. Plus we were the only foreigners there (a bonus). 2. Firat booked us a reservation at a nice restaurant a 10-15 drive away. As we were leaving, he noted that he would be ending his shift in moments and generously offered to drive us himself (which we accepted). 3. On the way out, I asked for music recommendations, and Firat emailed me a few songs to listen to. And as we were a group of four, they were nice enough to put us in our own private hall, which was basically our own little apartment. The rooms were small and minimalist but clean and comfortable, and good value for the price (with wifi too!).

We stay here 5 days - it was the perfect location for access to all of Istanbul, whether by foot, tram or ferry. Exceptionally clean, and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. On my next visit to Istanbul, it's nice to know that I don't have to shop around - I won't hesitate to book here again.
