“Nice hotel in a very pleasant city”
Reviewed 23 August 2011

We booked a suite direct with the hotel for a four night stay. The Hotel matched the price given by the cheapest tour operator and included an airport pick-up. The pick-up was not essential as taxis appear to be metered and regulated, but it is always nice to have a smooth transfer to the hotel in an unknown city.

The hotel itself is in the old town and the area is a complex of small narrow streets. Don't be put off by this as the outside is a little daunting.

The staff in the hotel are very pleasant, have good English and helpful. There is an introduction to the tours available (isn't there everywhere) but no pressure whatsoever to buy these. As the transport system is very cheap, and I mean cheap, it is very easy to negotiate the city and its sights yourself.

The hotel beds are amongst the best we have experienced. Bigger than king size and very firm.

The breakfast in the hotel is very continental so don't expect bacon and all the trimmings. There is also a table set out so that you can help yourself to fruits, biscuits, water, fruit juice, tea, coffee and cakes throughout the day.

The evening meal is cheap by European standards but dear by local comparisons. Having said this we tried both and the little extras, free drinks and appetisers in the hotel, level the playing field.

The only downside with the hotel is the noise from building work nearby. We could see some building work but the noise didn't appear to be coming from this location. it was only problematic during the day if you wanted a nap but it it is worth checking when it will be completed as another writer mentioned it in June on this site.

All in all a good four day stay in a pleasant city.

We had a wonderful stay at Rose Garden Suites in Istanbul. The room was unique and beautiful. This is a very charming boutique hotel situated in the old city within five to ten minutes walking distance from all of the major tourist attractions. In-house dining was excellent and the hotel offers a very generous breakfast buffet, as well as all-day free soft drinks, coffee, teas and juice. However, what makes this hotel truly special is its staff. An extremely helpful and friendly staff is attentive to your every need. We were very impressed with a young lady named Ozga who befriended us immediately and ensured we had a very informed and pleasant stay. She is an extremely professional, courteous and friendly person who always had a warm smile. If she is not a general manager, she should be.

This B&B/ hotel is very well situated - it is in the heart of the old city and only a 5 minute, and pleasant walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome. It is very close to the other major tourist sites too. It has recently been renovated very nicely. Our room was exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated with some Turkish flair, cool, airy and spacious. The same can be said about the bathroom. Definitely a luxurious feel to the room and bathroom - as good as any 5 star hotel I would say. The room also felt private - the walls and doors were thick enough not to hear the folk next door. The complimentaries are unusually generous - the hotel offers complimentary tea, coffee, delicious shortbread biscuits, water and juice, which is much appreciated after a long, hot day of walking! In addition, the complimentary toiletries are lovely. The breakfast is also exceptionally good, offering a wide variety of foods so that you can choose a traditional English kind of breakfast or a typically Turkish one - with lots of fresh fruit, nuts, yogurt etc. The breakfast terrace, despite not having an expansive view of the sea or city, is pleasant. It is outside in the garden/inner courtyard, but obviously under shade. The hotel staff were very gracious - unfailingly helpful, friendly and professional. My husband and I spent 5 nights there from the 25th July 2011. The only thing that was a slight irritation was the noise of the renovation of a building next door to the hotel. Not something they can do anything about..... and perhaps it is over by now. My husband and I can recommend this hotel without any reservations. Dr Katherine Everett-Murphy and Judge John Murphy, Cape Town, South Africa (PS we did not eat at the hotel restaurant so we cannot rate that)

By staying at Rose Garden House Suites not only you would have enjoyed of perfect services but you would be able to feel the historical roots of istanbul, as this Hotel is situated in historical part of the city very close to Ayasofya and Blue mosques where should be considered as a surprised in Istanbul urban pattern. Hence by figuring out the identity of Istanbul , there would be possible and easy to reach to other parts of Istanbul such as Taksim and Kabatash just by using the tramway and metro. i have to add that the personnel of Rose Garden House Istanbul professionally knows how to make a safe and hospitable atmosphere for the guests.

Perfect place to enjoy old Istanbul and main sightseeing destinations, which are within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. A cozy and sweet boutique style, family run hotel. We enjoyed our stay here and will go back again soon.
