“Tasty local”
Reviewed 27 December 2013 via mobile

A very local and very tasty place, where the meat was juicy, nicely spicvced with a fresh salad. Though we had no common language, the service was very friendly and attentive, and included desert on the house. Good value for money.

“Simple food in bustly setting”
Reviewed 19 June 2013

Plastic tables in the street - simple short menu, but greeted with a smile, as much bread as you can eat - pretty good meatballs and lovely lamb.... Nothing more, nothing less - a great stop to fill up and watch the bustle of the street go by while munching on bread and meat...

“Authentic Turkish”
Reviewed 10 March 2013

I just found it while wandering around trying to escape a little from the touristic path. This place was full with locals. It is a simple place, ideal for a quick lunch. No protocols, no fancy tables, only a short list of dishes but all of them as typical as tasty.
Helva, the dessert, is a must. Not easy to find elsewhere having a humble origin, it tastes really homemade.
It is inexpensive also, and service is correct, what else can you ask for?

“for a nice and easy lunch just before the city tour...”
Reviewed 18 September 2012

The word "Rumeli" means the territory now referred to as the Balkans or the Balkan Peninsula when it was occupied by the Ottoman Empire. In Turkey, it is believed that the most delicious "köfte" (meatball) is made by the people coming from that area. As a local people, i always prefer to have my lunch here with my family for a short, affordable and yet delicious meal before going to grand bazar or sultanahmet tour; the atmosphere is not fancy, the place is situated nearby a narrow street, good quality/value ratio in my opinion.
