We came to Istanbul for the 2012 New years eve and this hotel seemed to be a nice accomodation close to both Taxim square and old town and it had good reviews on booking.com so we made a reservation.

Well first off, it turned out that the hotel isnt so easy to find since it has no signs at all. But even after we had it found we couldn't come in since the door was locked! We called the number given on reservation but nobody answered. It was too late to leave and try to find some other place to stay (after 9pm) especially because there weren't a lot of places in the neighbouring area. There's a small coffee shop nearby so we asked the owner to call someone and let us in. In some 20-30 minutes time a guy finally showed up and we got a room...

The room was comparatively big and VERY dirty! There's no reception desk there and during our stay (3 nights) we havent seen either anyone from the hotel's stuff or room cleaning. We basically has got no service at all! The only person we found there was a woman running a cafe downstairs who didnt speak english :) At least she managed to explain (in German) where we could find clean towels.

I am not sure if it was the way the owners run their hotel, or we just had some bad luck, but it was the worst place we've ever stayed in! We had a horrible experience and btw even though we left earlier the hotel charged us the full price (they charged the credit card directly since nobody ever showed up).

I arrived in Istanbul after a long flight. I gave the address and phone number to the taxi driver who called the Apart manager Nejla who explained the exact location of the hotel, and then came to greet me straight out from the taxi, so that she can walk with me to the hotel. It was a very nice welcome, and I already knew at that point that service and kindness were the key words in this place. The building itself is located in a very quiet street were no cars are passing by. The only thing you hear at night is the beautiful Adhan from the adjacent 15th century Mosque that you can even admire from your room's window... that's the magic of Istanbul. The rooms are located in a typical Turkish building with a lovely newly opened cafe on the ground floor which is very convenient as well as super friendly and warm. Nejla has been taking care of all my needs with so much kindness, and she is always reachable via phone if needed. She arranged in a few seconds my way back to the airport with a taxi that was there on time the next morning at 7AM and which is charging the regular taxi fare. The studio you can rent are big, clean, bright, with a convenient kitchen area and a very big bathroom. The decor is simple but lovely and feminine. The atmosphere is personal still not overpowering. All in all it has been a very pleasant stay, far better than staying in a hotel because the space is bigger but most of everything you can share talks and great moments with very nice people that can also give you more tips, advices and nice chats than any other hotel manager. I will go back !
