Friendly staff, very comfortable rooms, good location near metro, tourist attractions and walking distance from ferries.
Due to construction across the street temporarily noisy during the night.
Breakfast is elaborate and delicious.
Formula of spa/sauna is a bit confusing: sauna is hot and spacious enough, but cooling down is a problem (only one narrow shower) and it's not very clear if it's okay to leave your clothes off (as is usual in nordic countries).

We had booked the Erboy and upon our arrival were told the good news of our upgrade to their brand new hotel - the Neorion.
We had done much research before choosing the Erboy based on it's location and amenities. We were a bit hesitant to accept this upgrade because we knew nothing about this "new" hotel.
We were assured we would love this new hotel that had a pool, spa, etc.
Can (John) at the Erboy was so right! From the minute we arrived we were thrilled to be there.
The staff was wonderful. The rooms were big and modern. The bathrooms were very nice with a great rainhead shower.
We checked out the pool and spa but unfortunately we never had a chance to use it. We were much too busy exploring beautiful Istanbul.
We were disappointed that the rooftop terrace was not finished while we were there. We would have loved to relax with a drink in the evening. The views were amazing! We jokingly discussed sneaking some pillows and chairs up there.
I'm sure once it is done it will be spectacular.
We were leaving Istanbul to explore Konya & Cappadocia. We decided to return to the Neorion on our last night before we flew home. The staff kept our luggage secure for us so we did not have to lug our bags all over Turkey. That really made our trip much easier.
We'd like to thank everyone at the Neorion - the housekeeping staff, wait staff, check in, etc. Especially Bahar who was very welcoming and a pleasure to speak with every day.
Keep up the good work. We can't wait to return to Istanbul and we will be sure to return to the Neorion!

Thank you Bahar, and the rest of the staff, for making my first trip to Istanbul such a great experience. I couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel. From the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, to the friendliness of the staff, everything was beyond expectations.

I came here by chance as another hotel of the same group had booking problems and we were directed her. At the end I was asked by a member of the staff about suggestions to improve and I couldn't find any.
Large rooms, free spa in the basement, cleanness. But the best of it was the quality of the staff, ready to help and able to do so, with internet, dinner recommendations, transfers, whatever.
It is in very well located at the very center of Istabbul old town, so do not expect open water swimming pool and that kind of things.

We spent 13 nights in the NEORION hotel, in Istanbul: (french couple, sorry for my bad english) in july 2011.
- rooms: very good, clean, with space, television with 38 channels and different languages, big big shower in marble bathroom with veeery big towels, lukums (and cocktail) when we arrived, very good large bed with four pillows, locking safe, manual air-conditionning, little terrace...
- Breakfast: from 7 to 11am, you have got an army of people ready to help you, from the service of turkish tea to the planning of your day by printing for you all the necessary informations. Exceptional choice of dishes, with 4 cheese, 2 kinds of olive, ham, eggs, bacon, 2 kinds of sausages, vegetables, various nuts, 5-6 kinds of jam, cereals, different breads, fruits, fresh homemade orangejuice...... (we did not even need to have lunch in 15 days because of the great breakfast.. so we were more efficient during our visits) and a real alveolar 30cmx60cm honey bar !
- Pool, jacuzzi, sauna, turkish bath: medium sized pool but still usable for swimming without fear, you MUST try the full marble turkish bath... lying on a warm marble stone bed is a true moment of paradise.
They kept our luggage on the last day of our trip, that was very kind.

Now, the most important: it is the most central place in Istanbul: we didn't even buy metro tickets during our trip, the most popular attractions are within 15 minutes by foot, and (like for us) if you want to discover the whole city, you can reach the most delightfull or typical places, with absolutely no tourists, by walking in every direction. (Fener, balat, are worth seeing, please do not stick to tourist zones... but you will love the topkapi harem, Haya sophia, archeological museums, 6hours bosphorus tour or the beautiful Semsi ahmet pasa Camii.. ) We went everywhere by foot and boat.

We got a 10% dicount on all the four roof-terrace hotels of the Sirkeci group, (all centered in the same historical zone, within 200 meters) with magic view on Istanbul. (The Neorion hotel is brand new, so the restaurant was not done yet) . Our prefered restaurant was the Orient Express Hotel restaurant (called Imbat), we looked at the menus from time to time (of the 4 restaurants) at the erboy hotel which was situated 100meters above ours.
Wine glasses were refrigerated, exceptional food at correct price (half the prices of similar french restaurants), and the view, always the view..
