A Boutique style Hotel in Istanbul. Rooms clean and basic. Location is great. A small buffet breakfast included in room rate. Reception staff fabulous and helpful. Room service available.
Rooftop terrace is a dream, the view amazing. In the late afternoon, early evening as the sun goes down, you can ask for drinks to be sent up as you sit back and enjoy the view. The Hotel has a sister restaurant five minutes away, where they can arrange a booking for dinner. Loved our stay ,and will return again. Their farewell gift of a gorgeous blue scarf was very appreciated.

Just back from spending 4 nights in Istanbul and we were highly delighted with the Hotel Neorion. All the staff, from front of house, through the buffet and the cleaners, were all friendly and helpful.
Booked the superior room on line for 4 night which gave us a free pickup and you could also prebook the return journey for €25 to save any hassle.
We were in room 602 which is a large twin bedded room with small sitting area and large bath/shower room. Comfortable beds and pillows and decent a/c.
There is a nice balcony with chairs and table with a view of the old town and the waterway. Excellant for sitting out in the sun for a couple of hours in the evening after a hard day visiting the sites.
There is a nice buffet breakfast from 7 to 11 with a decent selection. There are snacks available from 1pm to 7pm which is nice for a bite on your return in late afternoon.
There is a large roof terrace on the 7th floor with even better views - you can get a glass of wine or beer between 8pm & 9pm - which is the perfect time to catch the sunset at this time of year - and see the sun setting over the old town and the mosques.
You can see the lights coming on over the city when the sunset becomes night in around 30 minutes.
You are only a couple of minutes from the tram stop - in 5 minutes you can choose from 50 restaurants - and 10 to 15 mins gets you to the Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque - although you can get the tram and save the walking for less than a £1 or $1.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a peaceful stay whilst being in the thick of the action.

Room Tip: 6th floor superior with views - we were in 602 with great view - 601/603 would have similar balcony...

We were in Istanbul mid-May. I booked this hotel probably about 4 months ahead of our travel date. As it got closer to travel time, I kept seeing offers for other hotels on various booking sites that seemed very nice and quite a bit cheaper so I was dithering. But in the end, we kept our booking with Hotel Neorion and I am so glad I did. Why? let me list some reasons!

Excellent location - easy to get to the main Sultanahemt sites as weill as other parts of the city. Tram is about a block away, walking distance to Galata bridge, spice market, and lots of restaurants,

The rooftop terrace - an oasis of calm in the chaos that is Istanbul. Great view, loungers, tables and chairs. Wonderful for pre-dinner drinks or take away snacks.

The mezze buffet - you can take these up to the terrace - nice variety - could really do this for lunch every day if you wanted.

The spa - I didn't think we would use this as much as we did but at the end of a busy day, toasting ourselves on the warm marble slabs followed by a dip in the pool was just the ticket for a good night's sleep. We also had a haman appointment there. I really debated as to whether to book this at the hotel or a more historic haman but in the end, I think the service at the hotel was much more attentive and personal than the more public hamans. We didn't feel rushed at all and it was a wonderful expericnece! Plus we didn't have to walk about in public to return to our hotel to "re-do" ourselves.

Can't forget airport pick-up - as soon as we walked into the main part of the terminal we were greeted by a cacaphony of sound. So nice to find our driver and be taken directly to our hotel. As others have noted we were warmly greeted and given many helpful suggestions for restaurants, sightseeing - whatever we needed. So if we are fortunate to return to Istanbul at some future date, I won't even LOOK at other options - just go straight to booking Hotel Neorion.

As we were staying for more than 3 nights, we were entitled to the airport pick up. This was a blessing after having traveled for over 20 hours to get to Istanbul. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt at home. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a superior room on the 6th floor which was very comfortable and clean. We were offered breakfast when we arrived which was great and we then proceeded to do an all day tour which was probably not such a good idea in retrospect. We were very pleased to return to the hotel late in the day for some of the complimentary mezze whilst sitting out on the rooftop terrace with a glass of wine.

Our visits to the rooftop terrace after a day of hectic sightseeing proved to be our favourite time of day. The view is amazing and it is a tranquil haven amidst the madness of the city.

Istanbul is an amazing city with so much to see and the Neorion is located close to many of the sights. The staff are excellent and have been very well trained. They offered great advice on how to get to places and what to do. Unfortunately we had a death in the family while we were staying and the staff were very respectfully concerned that we were ok which was lovely.

We both had massages which was great. There is a lovely pool and massage area on the basement level.

We ate one night at the restaurant of their sister hotel, the Orient Express. Would highly recommend. We made the decision to dine there quite late in the day and weren't able to get a reservation but the staff at the Neorion managed to get us in.

I left with a gift of a really lovely scarf which I will treasure as it will remind me of our wonderful stay at the Neorion.

We booked the hotel based on the first rate reviews and we weren't disappointed. We had a free arrival transfer and it was the most luxurious car pick-up we've ever had. We wanted a faster check-in as we had friends that we wanted to meet in the city for a few hours and when we returned we were given a welcome drink and briefed on the wonderful breakfast selection (would have been great if there was an egg station) and the lovely complimentary meze selection that was beyond just snacks but a full-on lunch from 1-7pm. The roof terrace had beautiful views and there was a free drink from 8-9pm at sunset. Overhearing the welcome briefings for other guests we weren't provided with the same details and tips which would have been handy and would be my only minor gripe.

The pool is small in the basement but had convenient opening times til 10pm as did the jacuzzi and sauna.

The room was very spacious with a king size bed (you can order from a pillow menu), chaise lounge and armchair. There were complimentary turkish delights which my boyfriend demolished every day and on the last evening they fashioned an elephant out of towels with a complimentary gift for our stay which was a very nice touch. With 10% off for paying in cash in any currency made it worth the value especially with it's central location in the old city short walk to haga sophia and topkapi palace. It's also near a tram line so it did get quite noisy with late night and early morning traffic (ear plugs were provided in the room).

I would definitely be looking to stay here again with maybe a higher room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor, which we should have done for a quieter nights sleep.

From the first minute Fatih and all the staff at the Neorion Hotel did their best to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. My wife landed in Istanbul at 5.40am and got to the hotel very early. She was found a room to sleep and refresh until our two rooms were ready. I arrived with our children on a different flight and we were able to share this room and also all partake in the mornings breakfast buffet although technically not even checked in yet.

The Neorion provides a daily buffet breakfast, meze spread from 2-7pm and sunset drinks from 8-9pm all free to guests. The sunset drinks are on the huge roof terrace which has great views over Istanbul. There is also a complimentary spa with pool, sauna and two hammans. As well stays longer than three days get a free airport pickup.

The hotel is very conveniently located close to the tram line and a short walk from all the attractions of Sultanahmet.

The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and everything worked well in them.

To conclude couldn't find anything to fault in the facilities, the staff we're incredibly friendly and helpful and I can see why it rates so highly on Trip Advisor. Thanks and keep up the great work - would definitely return here.
