My husband arrived, the day before me, on a bike from Paris. He was filthy. It was the early hours of the morning. He was hungry. The hotel staff welcomed him with open arms. They stored his bike, showed him to his room and ordered a pizza for him. Nothing was too much trouble, and we weren't easy guests. The following day they directed him to the shopping area for some clothes and booked a taxi to take him to meet me at the airport? After a wonderful few days in this small, clean, refurbished hotel in the centre of Istanbul, close to the main sites, the staff helped my husband to deconstruct hIs bike and pack it for the plane. They said they wanted us to feel like family. We did! Thank you. We will be back.

We had four night which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location was excellent being within walking distance of most of the major attraction and quiet at night even though near to the coast and the railway.
Staff were very helpful and informative even being able to deal with where to change old Turkish banknotes.
WIFI worked well which was a major selection criteria.
Room could have done with an extra seat but clean and the facilities all worked well.
Very satisfied customer.

It was our first visit to Istanbul and since first impression counts the management did not dissapoint us. We were aware of the narrow bylanes of Sultanahmet but the drive from airport to the hotel was simply breathtaking as one can view the Marmara sea with gulls flying and ships docking near the port.
Overall the management were very helpful particularly one receptionist Mr. Ersin who was a good guide for us in explaining where to go and what to do. Room was a little bit small but kept clean and staff was polite. Although they dont have a terrace for arranging your meal but the breakfast served in their basement restaurant was good.
The important thing is that all the tourist attractions are close by and walking is always recommended on the cobble stones laid out.
Will love to come and stay here again since we missed out on other attractions in our 9 day stay in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Any room is fine as long as there is a huge window thru which sea breeze could be felt and smelled:)

LOCATION is convenient to all the major tourist destinations. Walk 5 minutes to Blue Mosque. 10 Minutes to Hagia Sophia, 15 mins to the palace.

ROOM is simple but very very clean. Decor is a bit like something from an old aunt's house. Bed was plenty comfortable but Queen size, not King. My room was on the top floor (3rd floor) and had a balcony facing the street...quaint.

VIEW is average...street view or courtyard view.

SERVICE was very friendly and pretty helpful with suggestions and directions, arranged car service as well.

PRICE I thought was slightly high for what they offer but it seems to be the about right for the area.

Room Tip: Top floor has vaulted ceilings...and slightly better view.

We spent 3 nights at the Sultans Royal Hotel. Our room was on the front of the hotel, but it was not noisy. The room and bathroom were spotless and comfortable. The hotel is located on a small street very close to major attractions. We walked everywhere but it is easy to get a car if you want one. The hotel will call and will also tell you what to expect to pay. The young men at the reception desk are very helpful. Although he was wrong about the amount of time it would take to get to Ataturk for our departure flight (we got there way too early), we especially appreciated all the help (with a big smile) that Ersin gave us.

The downstairs breakfast area is brightly lit with skylights. The typical Turkish food was good but I would have liked more fresh fruit and more herbal tea options. The staff keeps everything replenished during the breakfast hours.

We received a discount for paying in cash, which really made the hotel a good bargain.
We would definitely stay here again and do not hesitate to recommend it.

I recently returned to the states from a 10 day trip to Turkey, the first 3 nights of which were in Istanbul. We stayed at the Sultans Royal and it was a great experience. The hotel was a perfect, local hotel, located just a few minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque and the center of the Sultanahmet tourist area. The accommodations were clean, the staff was incredibly helpful (including providing us with a laptop to use the internet each morning, and early access to breakfast on our final morning when we had an early flight), and the included breakfasts were excellent. Also, many travellers stay at the hotel, so we received/gave great recommendations to/from other guests. Would highly recommend for a stay in a quiet, local hotel in the heart of the tourist area of Istanbul.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the end of the building. The walls are a bit thin, so the ends of the building mig...

Probably one of the friendliest hotels. The staff are very helpful and the informal atmosphere feels like home ,Location is very good, within walking distance from most of the sightseeing places as also the tram station and yet it is nice and peaceful.Would unhesitatingly recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul who is not enamoured by the clinical , impersonal efficiency of well known hotel chains.
