I spent 4 days in Istambul in the last days of February; i found this hotel for the position: it's very in the centre, very close to Aya Sophia, Blu Mosque, Gran Bazar, Galata Tower and much thinks. The place is inside in the historical area of Istanbul and really u can go everywhere just by walk. I went also from the hotel to Taxim Square…is like 6.5 km but is possible to make without problem.
The hotel is nice, comfortable and basic; for the time that a person could spend in the room is perfect. In the reception you can find Mehmet that is an amazing guy that will help you for everything.

Do yourself a favour and take a look at the pictures of this place. It is a fine little boutique hotel. Great rooms, location and breakfast. WARNING: for those trying to find it using google maps - some idiot has labeled a location half a mile away and down a warren of streets as Villa Hagia Sophia. The only reason we found our way to the hotel was thanks to a deliveryman.

You cannot reasonably wish for more:
- Super friendly staff, both before and during your stay
- Perfect location, within walking distance of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, still in a very calm street
- Very cosy and nice breakfast room, incl, fresh fruit and nicely decorated little buffet
- The total hit is the room: Full of very beautiful, old furniture, spacious (suites, in fact!), old, but stylish decors (the sink!!). Just perfect
- Good and fast WLAN, also in the rooms
- And all this for a really modest price!

- But important hint: Be sure to print out a map and mark other spots nearby (Best Western hotel e.g.). Otherwise, your taxi driver might need to cruise around the old town for 30 minutes - as it happenend to us!

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely place, would have stayed longer but fully booked. We enjoyed the fact that it is very personal, just 4 rooms, great breakfast! The location is excellent as well just in a few minutes at the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and much more. Istanbul was since a long time on my wish list, we enjoyed it very much and will be back for sure, much to see, good food, great fun indeed.

great... Room and breakfast were great, hosts as well, location close but not too close to the center, small store across the street, restaurants and bars around the corner, information up the street... Comfortable, cosy and peaceful.

Could not make payment with Visa Electron online.

Room Tip: Room number 4 was ok.

It is always difficult to predict if your hotel will turn out to be the way it is advertised online. We were slightly worried about booking Villa Hagia Sophia as it is not the cheapest hotel and we didn't want any disappointment...

Well...This amazing boutique hotel is everything and MORE!!

We have received truly exceptional hospitality during our stay. Nothing is too much trouble for Villa Hagia Sophia staff. There is a lovely young girl who works there in the mornings (rather unfortunately cannot remember her name). She just went out of her way to make guests very special despite not speaking much English. It was unimportant anyways as she understood everything we wanted and needed. Special thanks to her and Melek (another lovely lady).

There are only four rooms in this hotel, however; every suite is beautifully appointed and very spacious. All fittings and furniture are of the highest possible standard. Huge free-standing baths in bedrooms, lovely beds, walk in showers that would easily accommodate more than four people! Lovely sitting room with a flat screen TV and comfortable Sofia's and soft chairs. All furniture appears to be antique and very tasteful. Loved the sink in my room! It was very ornate, colourful and beautiful!

The rest of the hotel is wonderful. Sweeping spiral wooden staircase, plush setties on every landing, massive and impressive mirrors on every wall...

I must also mention all chandeliers throughout the hotel - exceptionally beautiful!

This hotel occupies the original wooden house that this district is famous for. Many of these historic houses no longer exist. However this particular one was carefully and lovingly restored over two years by the owner who just fell in love with it and wanted to return this house to it's original ancient splendour.

This house was for a short time was the residence of the second president of the republic. It was also the location of many movie productions of the Yesilcam television company.

The location of this hotel is simply superb. Five minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and all other historical sights. The Grand Bazaar is a slightly longer pleasant walk away from the hotel.

Despite being right in the centre of Historic part of Istanbul this hotel is hidden on one of side streets. You will experience a local way of life in this city...You will hear children playing on the street, locals having a chat...

Breakfast times at this hotel were very enjoyable indeed. Great coffee and a selection of fresh bread, cakes, cookies, cold meat, cheese, jams, eggs...

In the evenings you will be spoiled for choice as to where to have your evening meal. Many hotels in the centre of old Istanbul, however; you are likely to end up paying way to much in those tourist traps. Personally I would like to recommend one very simple restaurant a stone throw away from the hotel. It is called Ziyn Baba (I may be spelling this incorrectly). Turn left out of the hotel then right on the corner and this lovely gem is hidden on the RHS of that street. Please note that the surrounding restaurants are not as good and way more expensive. Ziyn Baba serves lovely grilled fresh meat with huge and tasty salads. All flavours are just incredible! Prices are cheaper than anywhere in the area and get really high quality food. No alcohol served in this particular restaurant.

Please do not hesitate booking Villa Hagia Sophia. You will NEVER regret your decision.

Room Tip: All rooms are gorgeous, however; Sultan suite was incredible! It is worth paying that little extra.
