“Cozy B&B in a great location!”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We were delighted with our stay at Dila Suites.
This is a converted older building with one room for each of the 4 floors. And a roof top terrace for breakfasts.

We stayed for 5 nights on the 1st floor room, and 1 night in the ground room floor. Of the 4 rooms, the ground room floor is smaller. We loved #102 (first floor), with a bay window which provided additional seating room. The rooms were very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and all the amenities were modern with a great bathroom and shower. The internet was available for use in a central area, and the rooms contained a safety deposit box.

The roof top terrace breakfasts were wonderful with a variety of food prepared fresh each day.

Location was VERY central, and though right around the corner from a busy restaurant district and Istiklal Street, we were not bothered by the street noise at night.

The owner , Deniz, was very friendly and offered a ton of recommendations - it is quite apparent that she is interested and cares about her guests. She was always happy to answer any questions and engage in conversation - a real homey feel.

We also arranged both our pickup and drop off transfers with Deniz - smooth and timely.

From a price perspective, this B&B is quite pricey as compared to what we expect a B&B to cost in most places around the world.. , however after careful evaluation of the Istanbul area B&B's their pricing is on par with good quality, well-situated and highly recommended B&Bs

We will definitely stay here again upon a return visit to Istanbul.

Room Tip: room on first floor (not ground floor) was very good, and spacious with bay window

Okay, so the good, the bad and the ugly.

Starting with the good; the 'hotel' is in a great location, walking distance from Taksim square, the Metro and Galata Tower. There are loads of really nice restaurants around and the rooms are lovely. Beds are great and breakfast at the rooftop terrace is lovely.

The bad: this is not a hotel! It's a B&B that charges hotel prices. There's no reception and you have to find the owner if you have any questions.

The really ugly: many people find the owner extremely nice so this is purely my view as I found her very overbearing. The really bad thing happened when she booked us transportation to the wrong airport (simply because she didn't check, which she could have as she also arranged for us to be picked up from there) making us almost miss our flight. Worse, she didn't apologise but insisted we paid more money for the transfer as our airport was further away. She didn't even come to the phone herself but had one of her staff (who really is the sweetest thing ever) convey her message. We lost another 20 minutes here.

I would not recommend this hotel mainly because of the owner and this incident.Overbearing when you don't want her to be and then not there when you do need her to pull through and be customer focused.

Room Tip: Quite a lot of street noise so try and get a room higher up (no lifts though)

It was a real gem. Everything was pleasurable clean and to the point. Location is brilliant and the hosts a Delight. I recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the local, exotic atmosphere and pulse of the city.
Breakfasts on the rooftop terrace extra bonus which made the days for us. All as expected and advertised. Book Now.

- Bathroom and Sheets are very clean
- Hospitable Staff: we felt like we were staying with distant cousins

- Area didn't feel safe at night when Istanbul is in an edgy pre-riot mode

Seriously, stop your search now and book Deniz and Ali's 'Dila Suites', if you can get in.

The room was superb, the rooftop breakfasts delicious, and location great, but it was Deniz and Ali's amazing hospitality and advice on their beautiful city of Istanbul that made our stay here truly great.

Seriously, book now.

Deniz and Ali, our hosts, really made our stay in Istanbul a highlight. We enjoyed our private conversations shared over a delicious partly homemade breakfast. They went out their way to ensure we went to the best places, restaurant recommendations and things to do. They made arrangements for us with the Hamman and even accompanied us on our first night to their favourite restaurant.
Beds were amazingly comfortable, every detail is looked after, bathroom looks like a spa, everything was impeccable. We would very much like to come back to Istanbul and if so, we would definitely stay with them again! Thanks Deniz & Ali, we await for you in Santiago de Chile!

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Turkey in October 2013. The hotel is located in close proximity to Istiklal Street and all the tourist attractions including the old town are just a few tram stops away. Deniz and Ali were very helpful in giving us tips on restaurants and things to do. Our room was very spacious and very clean. We had some trouble finding the hotel at first as it is located in a small lane just off the main street. The breakfast was great and was freshly prepared by Deniz everyday. Would highly recommend Dila Suites!!!
